Very well done. First time I have seen the LED with translucent ring combo.
I did the same thing more or less, but used EL sheet to light up the ring.
Brilliant shine you get though.

Very cool! Thanks for sharing!

Are you selling these? I know this isn't a JY thread but you already have the mold(s) done.

:D

Honus said on the instructional website that he isn't selling them but that might just be public forum CTOA...and if it is I want to buy glowie one too. I lack the talent and tools to make a decent one myself.

I actually did read that on the site. I should have probably used a ;) emoticon instead of the :D one.

;)

Wow, I just came across this at work earlier today (RSS feed, Make blog.. couldn't resist) and I didn't even stop to think that it would be one of our own! Shame on me. :)

And kudos to you, that's a heck of a tutorial you put together. Thanks!

Thanks! It was actually your EL ring that inspired me to make a glowing ring. I always wondered how you did that....

Glad you like it- Thanks! I'm also a MAKE junkie......great mag.

And sorry folks- like it says, they are not for sale. I've just got way to many other projects on my plate ( I've got to finish my animatronic Stargate Horus!) and I really don't want the legal hassle. They really aren't that hard to make once you get going on it. Wax carving is also a good skill to learn for prop makers.... :p
