Just incredible, taking that small a model and matching the 32" paint job to it... You're a talented man, Mr. Dymerski.

Thanks Barry...she is all yours.... :p , I made a custom stand for her also. Very little pics of the cockpit side and bottom of the 32" model..I embellished a little. matched what I could find and see and added some details from the 5 footer per our conversation.

looks better in person. Hey the people in the know ( and you know who they are) said it is GRIME as the base color NOT grey or white as others have said.
I went by them and they are the guys.. and they know who they are... :D

Lol - politics crack me up. Dean did a fantastic job on the Fine Molds. He'd do a fantastic job on the MR one. He'd paint a great AT-AT, snowspeeder too.

Lots of people I know can do a fantastic job.

Tons of models and opportunities in this hobby, both personally and professionally. As long as we have talented people willing to do their very best, we all benefit.

JP05 - what about my paint masters displeased you? I did the AT-AT, Snowspeeder, and AT-AT v2. I ask honestly, because I always strive to do my very best, and am always eager to learn a new trick or two.

Bottom line - I enjoy transparency over politics.

Congrats Dean. You did a fantastic job, and Barry will be a happy fella.

In case anyone hasn't figured it, I am the chap that commissioned Dean to paint my Fine Molds Falcon kit. And I am MORE than happy with the incredible job Dean has done.

When you consider he painted this using reference materials he gathered from the web, etc., it's even more amazing that he nailed so much of the 32" Millennium Falcon studio model.

I'm stoked that Dean did such an amazing job on such a tiny model. The FM Millennium Falcon, while off in many areas, is an amazing example of the toolmaker's art, and is a beautiful model kit deserving of the best paint job around. That's what Dean delivered for me.

So please guys, just appreciate Dean's talents in this thread. They speak for themselves.

Ya know anytime anyone mentions the letters MR in a post.....everyone comes running with the politics flag waving. Its sad, but funny, but I think more sad. I posted pics of my Clone Trooper helmet because I was so excited it finally came.....and just look at the nonsense that followed. It was a MR bash fest....and over what? I read the whole thing and have no idea. I forget how many posts and times viewed it was. I think the business world came to a grinding halt with all the folks reading that thread.

I should have known better than to put those 2 letters in my post. Oh well. My mistake. My big mistake.

I have known Dean for years....its hard to even recall how long. Its my personal opinion that Dean is the best model builder and painter I have ever seen. While its true there are many great model builders and painters out there....I am partial to Dean's work and tend to judge what I see by it. So when I say YZ ( see I am starting to learn) should have hired him to do work, its no attack against anyone. Its just a personal opinion. If someone's feathers get ruffled over that, there is not much I can do about it. Get tougher skin maybe.

I have no political ties to anyone. Could care less about them. I just know what I like, and comment on it. If that appears to folks to be politics, they need to get a new hobby, because I am not that important. If you don't believe me, ask my friends :)

Now to comments directed at me. Nothing wrong with your paintjobs Jason. They just don't pop for me. I know it may sound harsh, critical, and <gasp> political (how I have no idea), but its just my opinion. They are ok. They get the job done and look decent in person. I know A LOT of people who love what they have in their collection and they have you to thank for it. That says a lot about your work and is more important than my opinion.

Well back to Dean...............stop reading this and get that tutorial up. There are folks here waiting to build their Falcons ...........................

Wow... I'm going out to the garage and smash my MPC Falcon into tiny bits. That is some beautiful work, my friend. Some hi-res versions of those pics would be very welcome, indeed.

    Now where's my hammer...

This was what I built in 1980, back in the golden years of Star Wars history... No internet to get photos for research, just the box art, the Topps bubblegum cards, and the book "Famous Spaceships of Sci-Fi & Fantasy". Like I said, where's my hammer... :rolleyes

    Dean,

I received it today. THIS IS JUST INCREDIBLE. The pics do not do it justice. You've managed to make this relatively small kit look enormous. The accuracy and scalability of your paintwork is phenomenal. I am stunned. I haven't seen a paintjob on a model like this in years. Thank you so much for delivering this work of art. I am honored to add your talent to my collection.

Any word on the tutorial Dean? Barry, can you post a pic or two to show the scale of the falcon? I know there's a pic on HLJ of a guy holding it, I'm just curious how the paint job affects it.

On an unrelated note - I really like Jason's paint work myself - I just don't think that the factory application does his masters justice....
