so i had ago at modifying the hands i got from CeltPred.... i wanted to add some more detail to them so i decided to add some horns/ bumps... i used milliput for these and took me about 10 mins to do in total.... they look a bit weird in the pics but in person there cool enough.. plus they have to be painted.

anyway i like them..

Looks like you rubed those hands of my Elder head, but honestly once you get some paint on they will look amazing. Glad to see you put these hands to good use. keep the good stuff coming and next will be the full suit. Hopefully mine will come along quickly too so we can suit up together mate.

you know its not something i had planned on doing.. to be honest it never even entered my head.. but now i defo think its something i'm going to do..

so another little update..

I got some more work done on the Gaunts.. i've glued the leather together but still have to rivet the plates.... as you can see it looks ridget. but once riveted i can bend the leather abit more... the white string that is used as a tie will be replaced with leather thonging during the week..

also i had read in a thread morthenharket made about the arms being big.. altho its not a majot problem for me there was apost that George(PTGreek) had mate in the thread that gave me an idea... he suggested using material wrapped around the upper arm just at the join of the gaunt and arms....

I have a **** load of linen here that i cam going to use like a wrap and wrap it around my arm and up on to the upper arms... then the hands and gaunts go on.. gave it a test run and looks pretty cool..(no pics)..

there is some more leather to go on them then i need to age the leather... but overall they're coming together... hopefully tomorrow i should have them finished then its onto the home run..
painting the last bits... only 4 weeks left until Dday..

First of... my hat is off to you guys that airbrush suits etc regularly... today i tried my hand at it for the first time....(unsupervised that is)..

for the first hour i felt like throwing the thing out the window... my own fault i had the paint mix to thick.. and of course it clogged the machine up which meant stripping it down and cleaning it out... i must have done it 10 times in the first hour..

anyway i eventually got going and i really started to enjoy myself... the one thign that was going around in my head was what Lee had said to me.. layers.. build up your paint in layers...

so i did exactly that,,

These are the Hands i got from Scott(Bovine13)...they are trophy hands that have been cut off a pred..

so on with the pics..(Quality is a bit muck took them on the phone, will use camera later)

Those are looking great. I actually like the fact that the spots are muted down ..makes the flesh look necrotic. Again ...this build is such a pleasure to watch

As george said the muted spots and slightly faded look, works well with a dismemberd limb hehe.

now when we going to see pics of the legs painted up?

thanks guys.. yea i was happy with them.. I looked at them again today.. and they look like they have been hacked of and left sitting for a few weeks.. really chuffed with myself.

So i also painted up my hands that i will be wearing for the suit... again i took my time building the colour up in layers... I made a bit of a **** up tho. they are not exactly the same colour as the torso lol... i may darken it down a bit tho..

anyway.. this was attempt 2 at airbrushing..

Oh and lee.. the legs should be done by tomorrow.... aswell as the feet..

so this morning i sat down to paint the feet.. again they are duller than i had planned but i like them.. they look dirty... whihc is what he is a dirty pred..lol

so its done.... the painting that is... i got the legs painted.. and the torso and arms...

the torso i really just dulled the paint down...you can see it in the pics..

the legs i started from scratch.. i enjoyed doing these.. altho i ran out of some of the colours i was using.. so i had to improvise...all in all it turned out well.. the colours are hard to see in the pics.. i'll get some decent shots with the good camera later on.. anyway on with the pics.. enjoy..
