First Project-Start To Finish

Well, I started on my first actual project! Yay me! Put my plans for the combi stick on hold for now and went with what I thought would be simpler. The Smart Disc Holder. Crazy me right? It has a lot of tiny folds really close together I didn't notice. But I will finish this bad boy. Here are some of the pics I've taken thus far in the project.

I Forgot to put in the topic name it was a WIP. My bad...

Anywho, here are two more pics as I get ready to finish the top.

Was wondering though...should I resin the bottom inside first before I attach the top piece or just resin the outside after I close it off?

Couldn't sleep this morning so I finished gluing the disc holder together shy of attaching the final piece so I can pour the resin inside to strengthen the base. Here's three fresh pics to go with it. Hope folks like what they see thus far and any advice or suggestions is always welcome!

Okay, I've had around eighty views, not counting my going in to update. And no one seems to want to say anything if I'm doin' okay or bulloxing the whole thing. *shrugs*

Anyway, got a question and I REALLY REALLY hope someone replies. To do any detail work like making it look like bolted plates, etc...is that after all the resin work is done after or before a final clear coat is applied prior to priming and painting? I am considering doing either a bolted together look or a tribal embossing.

Any advice and comments would be welcome and greatly appreciated.

I'll be ordering myself some EpoxAmite 102 within the next week or so. TIl then I'm gonna start on my combi stick.

So are you asking when you should add detail to the piece? Like adding screws or stitching? If I was to try this I would do with after applying resin. Then prime, paint, and clear coat. I would be concerned with the resin covering up the detail work and making it lose depth. Just my two cents.

I appreciate your input, Scott and thank you much for taking the time to help guide me in the right direction. *nods lots*
