I agree, it looks to be an incredible ride. My only grip, from what I've seen in the videos, is that they seem to be using the older generation of animatronics in it, not the same generation/model as the Hono animatronic in Smuggler's Run. Having seen how smooth and lifelike Hondo is, the one's in Rise look really stiff and robotic.

Watching the lasted Imagineering episode off of Disney+, the Imagineer said that they had problems that they almost have overcome. Perhaps the new animatronics did not work as well as they hoped and in order to make the deadline they reverted back to slightly older technology.

Which animatronics do you mean? As I understand it, some but not all of the stormtroopers are animatronic, but those aren't required to move all that much. They just have enough animation to suggest they aren't empty suits of armor, and some of the others have actual humans inside. Are you referring to something else?

I got to ride it 3 times last week. The animitronic stormtroopers hardly move. Only the heads turn which was disappointing, However, the mon calamari commander on the shuttle as well as the Kylo and Hux were outstanding. This is easily the best ride that Disney has ever done. You really are immersed and feel like you are part of the universe. I can't wait to go back again.
