Wrong Matt, MNoble makes the slings.

I was thinking the same thing but, didn't want to make any assumptions. Excellent product, I might add. ;)

Re: First images of Hollywood Collectible Group's Aliens Marine PRODUCTION Pulse Rifl

I can answer number 1 for you - forum member Matsuo makes screen accurate slings, they're awesome; I have one on my airsoft Pulse Rifle, it will be migrating to my HCG one when it arrives!
I installed a counter in mine that I put in my M41A Pulse rifle ,that counts down and lights up the barrel when the trigger is pulled ,givivng it the firing look as it counts down ,it was made by Hyperdyne Labs and is very bright LEDS ,you can take a look at it on their website ,you can also see mine as an example too ,here........................

Thanks T & M!

Any more thoughts on that apparent barrel drop? Is that just a lens effect we're seeing on the photos, or do the Thompson and GL barrels actually droop slightly?

Tks :)

Thanks a lot for the review! I now know that the long wait was totally worth it!

I'm about to place this sucker in the inverted position within my SUV, for one summer afternoon, to compensate for the can time over seas. Not crackin' it's shell. I'm really thinking the 'fix' is THAT simple.

Re: First images of Hollywood Collectible Group's Aliens Marine PRODUCTION Pulse Rifl

hi all-

my first post here. question - i am looking to get a gun sling for my newly purchased HCG pulse rifle. any thoughts on how to pick one up? i saw the comment below and thought this may eb the way to go. is MNoble still on the boards? thanks. :love

Wrong Matt, MNoble makes the slings.

Guns are made in a factory. no idea on man hours it takes to assemble.

It would take extrordinary effort to make the GL chamber a round.
Beyond drilling out the chamber to slip a round in... To make it load and chamber a round requires the type of mechanics present in a real shotgun.

Same deal with the counter you cant really make a static counter count down. The time and effort to do so would outweigh the cost and effort of simply replacing it. You'll have to find an aftermarket counter unit to replace the static one.

The shrouds, stock, Barrel and barrel vent are metal. The GL and Thompson are resin.

Re: First images of Hollywood Collectible Group's Aliens Marine PRODUCTION Pulse Rifl

Mine just showed up today, albeit a little roughed up by UPS. Thank goodness for sturdy packaging. Only damage was the battery holder became unglued from the magazine. Made it really interesting trying to get the magazine out. Easy fix though. Mine shows a slight barrel droop, but not enough to be concerned. I wonder how easy it would be to carefully saw off the GL block and replace it with one of Phil S's? Looks like the GL barrel is in no way attached to the GL front block. All in all, I love mine and am happy I bit the bullet and got one. Love the weight of it. Looks good with one of Matt's shoulder straps.
Cheers,
Kevin

Post over in the PR modifications thread and Matsuo (who was involved in the development of the prototype HCG PR and has removed the aluminum shrouds from production PRs) may be able to advise. :)

Re: First images of Hollywood Collectible Group's Aliens Marine PRODUCTION Pulse Rifl

Hey fellas, I decided to play around with a new weathering technique this afternoon. It's really quick and easy. It might sound a little weird but it WORKED!!

About seven miles from where I work, we have this place called the Old Bear open firing range. It is offset from any main roads by a gravel road that is approximately two and a half to three miles long. Since the firing range is the only thing down that road, there is little to never any traffic on the week days. Today was a perfect day to try this.

I arrived out there during my lunch break with my HCG pulsey in the SUV. Once taking a quick survey of the area, I soon realized that there would not be any heavy traffic down that gravel road. Fortunately, I always keep an assortment of ratcheting tie-downs and tow straps with me. It's a 4x4. Stuff happens.

Anyhoo, I secured one end of a tow strap to my draw-tight hitch, the other, through the carry handle of the pulsey. I took great care to pay out roughly eight feet or so in slack. (don't intend for this thing to bounce back into my rear glass, etc.)

Once I felt confident that the ends were secure, started the vehicle and slowly proceeded to drive down that gravel road. The first fifty yards or so, things went pretty smooth. But, then again, I never exceeded 5mph. After that, I began to increase my speed until the thing back there started bouncing a little. It wasn't too bad really. I was kind of glad that both sides were finally getting the finish work equally.

Pleasant surprise though. After about a mile to a mile and a half at about 20 mph, the shrouds finally gave and came apart beautifully.

There are only a few pieces missing at this point. I managed to back track and collect most of everything that fell off of it. Even found a dead snake. But most importantly, I've got a beautiful set of weathered shrouds now. Will try to take pictures later.

Holy crap Tom that's insane!

But...

Heres what I did.

I heated my oven to 200... and yes you guessed it.... Baked the Pulsey.

Let it get nice and warm, I'd probably wait till it got to about 150 before handling it but even so wear gloves.

It pried apart much easier than the first one... the thompson still got frakked but at least I know now where I need to pry.

At least we know the shrouds can take a punishment and keep on ticking :thumbsup

Agreed. :D

Hehehe... you all know that I was just kidding about all that weathering stuff. But I am hoping to work up a much better photo shoot with this one very soon. Art's pics on the modification thread are truly amazing. May try to do something along those lines, next.

BTW, thanks for the tip, Matt. :)

I'll be looking into that myself over the next few days but, am sure someone may have already beaten me to it. ;)
