Gone but not forgotten.
Ok, not sure if this is the “right” spot for this so if not
Mods feel free to move!

Ok, not sure how many of you are going next weekend to
the CREATION FEST out in LA but if you’ll be there stop
by the booth at QMX to see Serenity in her first public outing.

I have been SOOOOOOOOOO busy these past months I have
not gotten too many of my own personal projects done as this
was dragging me down, but now that it’s almost complete I thought I’d share.

What’s in the pictures {and will be shown at the booth} is NOT a Master
Pattern but an actual resin kit of what the finished ship will look like! Took
allot of time but she’s almost there,
I plan on stopping by later on to post more Images as I have TONS of the finished parts!

Sooo, for now here’s a SNEAK PEEK and there will definitely be more
to follow as I assemble up a kit for its long travel out West!

First up, everyone should know the Serenity Bridge.. :cool

Followed up by the Gravity Rotor assembly....

The rear section of the Hull...

{ And yes, there are ALLLLLLLLLLLOT of rivets covering this thing !
I stopped counting at 300... }

:cry

Some more of the Main Body section put together..

Now THIS is what it's suppose to look like, not that POS Shanko's trying to pass off....

I'll ask as well, what is the size of the finished piece?

Thanks guys, and there is more to come.. :love

As to size, it will measure a little over 18 inches
in length when completed or about 1/130th scale.

I had to go back and forth on a size that was
" comfortable " to work with and NOT break the bankl
when they go into production !

TRUST ME, I would have LOVED a 2 - 3 footer.

But, as anyone who has cast can
tell you the LARGER you go the more obscene the cost
of rubber and resin !

Right now, at a foot and a half,
it's pretty much at TOLERABLE.. :lol

It's a SECRET ! :love

And once my MASSIVE headache goes away
I may pass it along...

:cry

Are these going to run really expensive when finished like the cylon raider, or a more reasonable price for us broke people lol

Very nice.

Interesting tidbit... when viewing the Terminator flying hunter killer from the bottom without the tail fins and guns attached and thinking the tail is the head... it has a strikingly similar shape/silhouette to Serenity. :)

Beautiful work, no doubt!

My concern is also price.
Anything over $500 and I'm out of the target audience for this Serenity replica.

Mike

That one (CYLON RAIDER) really blew me away.....Nice piece, but the cost was way more than what I expected.

That was my first take.
The Cylon Raider measures 15" x 9.5" x 3",
Lighting effects include the scanning/sweeping red LED "eye" and randomly flaring white engine lights.
Your Price, $949.95.

I'm guessing Serenity won't have lighting effects, but based on the Firefly Shipworks updates,
Serenity will contain many more pieces and be much more complicated to assemble and paint.
It would be nice to have a ballpark expected MSRP.
$500...$1,000...$2,500
Am I saving for this or not?

It is still a nicely done example for those able to put one in their collection.

Wow, nice. I think it is likely priced too high for me to get but still it is a cool item.

Since I can't afford it anyway, I wish it was bigger:lol 2 foot should be the minimum for any spaceship model:thumbsup

Afraid i can't speak to the costs of anything
as I'm only responsible for makin' it.... :unsure

But, I can tell you it WILL be lighted, so
yeah that will crank things up a wee bit... :love

Now then, here she was before I tore her down
to package up for her trip to the Creation Con
for this weekend !

Not all the parts are there of course, had some off for the pic's
but you get a good FEEL for her..

:love

I'll be updating with more this week as I took tons
of pic's for the assembly before shipping her out...

Thanks for looking..

You have mad skills, That is absolutely amazing work. I wish you were releasing this as a kit.
