(Firefly) Mal's Jacket from "Train Job"?

Hey gang, I did a search, but didn't find anything (here or anywhere, for that matter).

Anyone have a lead on the jacket that Mal wore during the heist portion of "Train Job"?

If it helps any, I think he wore the same coat in the 'buying Serenity' flashback at the end of Out of Gas, and while undercover stealing the Lassiter in Trash.

It looks like a Dickies or a jacket you can buy at a farm supply store. Maybe a western store. I've seen similar coats before.

After looking at Carhartt's site, I think this is it. I can't find any coats that have the different colored collar, but there's clearly a spot where their logo was removed.

Anyone have any other insights? Could this have been done after-market, or would it be too complicated?

Well, after my own eBay research, I found one that I think to be the right coat. It is indeed a Carhartt. (kudos to Loess) I've asked the seller if he knows the style name, as his is way too small and has a company logo embroidered on it.

Here's a picture of it.

EDIT: Update: I e-mailed Carhartt this picture to see if they can track it down. I'll keep everyone posted!

You're not the only one, I made a quick stop at the local farm store tonight. As you said, no luck on finding this in any of their current products. Looks like it's eBay or a sewing machine for anyone that wants this coat.

Well, you could get one and have a seamstress replace the collar fabric.

I'm inclined to think it's a previous model of a mass market coat.

I narrowed the style down. It's a Carhartt style #: J97 Men's Sandstone Detroit Jacket/Banket Lined, found here: http://www.carhartt.com/webapp/wcs/...10101&storeId=10051&productId=32139&langId=-1

The correct color is "Petrol".

Carhartt said the jacket now comes with a black color.

I haven't been in contact with them to determine if the collar color has changed.
