Firefly: Browncoats Unite

While it was nice to see them all re-assembled together 10 years later, to me the meat of the conversation was just a re-hash of the same stuff we've been hearing for the last 10 years.

Best show ever..
Best cast ever..
We were right..
We knew we were right..
SUMMER!!
etc..etc..

It doesn't help that they released this after the same people had said essentially the same things a couple of months ago @ SDCC. (Notice that they mention them having a panel to do at the end, so it seems they filmed this little sit down right before they all went on stage.) For anyone who's seen the panel and press conference that followed it, the 10th Anniversary Special will not be anything new to you.

The Inara thing could be interesting though, and it's "nice" to know that Joss had even more heartbreak in store for us. I can just see him finally getting Mal and Inara together only to have her succumb to her mystery illness and die in Mal's arms etc. Ahhh, that's Joss :behave

I'll be the one to say that I'm fine with what's been committed to celluloid at this point. The series was great, the movie was great, but let's face it, both of them were commercial failures. I highly doubt that any of them that are currently working (especially Fillion) would drop everything to come back to Firefly.

I for one, would be happy if whomever controls the rights to the verse, would open them up for independent stories to be written. Let's not forget that novelizations kept Trek alive for years and even became canon. The Verse is a great backdrop for all kinds of stories, even those that don't involve our beloved crew. I'd be happy to read them.

BTW, did anyone else notice Ron Glass was conspicuously absent except for clips from the series? Gina Torres (Zoë) and Morena Baccarin (Inara) weren't at the table with the others, but at least they were interviewed for this special. Just curious if anyone knows why.

This was filmed at Comic-Con this summer. The other actors weren't able to be present, which is why they did the separate interviews with them.

In the follow-up/not aired clips online, there was a point when Nathan hinted (well, blurted out) "Firefly: The Animated Series". That would allow everyone to do voice work and keep their day jobs. (It would also preclude him and Adam losing weight! :p ).

Heck I'd take that!

Nothing wrong with a good comic.

Did anyone see last night's episode of Homeland, Morena Baccarin had a very revealing scene in it.:love
