Re: Slave-1

Extremely ace stuff Mike, I can see your dedication to the FM kit is going to produce an amazing Slave 1, its just like the old A wing days, simple but works a treat.....ha ha simple eh!!! I'll duck whilst you swing one of those bucks at me. Be interesting to see how close to Juliens Dims you can get that skirt on the jig. Will throw you another skye call this week if your free?

Re: Slave-1

Im interested to know your measurements as well to compare, let me know how close you are Mike ! :)

Even roughly mocked up and with a rear skirt as a front one :D it's stunning !

Re: Slave-1

ILM Industrial Light and.......Magic? There is no magic in my opinion. I have learned that magic exists for the audience, I did for me when I was eight in
1977. But now in recreating some of those favorite subjects I loved as a child, and building every part myself
I can see the magic wears off for the model builder as soon as the first problem presents itself. So if you saw something amazing and magical on the screen, remember before there was any "magic" there was a lot of really hard work. The magic is a bi-product of the work that's where all
the magic comes from

Re: Slave-1

J-man before I added to the front of the rear skirt I had the dimension
you had spoke about 335.5 mm's from the gap to the end of the skirt.

The problem with that(335mm) number was I couldn't reach the 70.5mm gap
between the front and rear skirts. Maybe my fuselage and tail is too long?
If so it's not a problem they can be cut into two parts and trimmed down.
The spread at the gap is 70.5mm's wide right now and the width of the
skirt is at 336 mm's wide, let's just see how the rest comes out....LOL

Re: Slave-1

Thanks guys......

I am making one more part for the front wrap around
piece that goes over the nose. So I formed two more
fuselage halves and cut the section out. I am going
to fill it with the UC-30 and form it.

Today I marked out the fender opening on one side.....

When I get the UC-30 I can start working in the front skirt.....
if that all fits well the hard work is pretty much done? LOL
