[Finished] Mighty Morphing Power Rangers - Photoshoot Pics on Pg 2!

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - looking for a white ranger shield patter

Thanks for sharing the files EOS!

By the way, are you gonna cut the helmet in half? I was wondering if it will hold the shape if you cut it?

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - looking for a white ranger shield patter

no need to cut, the hole is big enough to get your head in, tested on all helmets.

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - looking for a white ranger shield patter

Does anyone have the pepakura files for the MMPR white ranger cuffs and shield that you don't have to pay for

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - looking for a white ranger shield patter

finally finished all 6 helmets! also started on the kiba shield today, but its a pain in the ass, im still drafting on the pattern, i built a raw piece so far, but it still needs a lot of work. oh well i will get there.

have some pics of the white ranger and all helmets!

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - all helmets built! now for other stuff :

and i built through the night to finish the white ranger shield. the basic pattern i used was ok to work off of, but it still has a lot of work in it to the finished piece. im very happy with how this turned out given that the material i used was terrible. you know you got bad material when the hot glue melts your foam. that was a challenge for sure :D

now i only got to build the arm and leg things for the white ranger, the glove extensions for the other rangers, the morphers and holsters. sounds like a lot, but it isnt really. all small things, which should be finished rather quickly.

morphsuits are being ordered tomorrow, along with boots, gloves, belt material, and everything else still needed. i think im on a good track to finish by 4th of march, and maybe i even find enough time to build saba!

also, im gonna add the pattern picture i used, but i still did a lot on the foam after i cut it out

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - all helmets built! now for other stuff :

well i got some work done, ive allready put 4 visors in, also built a green ranger helmet, cause we expanded our group by 1 member, made all the forearm cuffs and taped them off ready for painting, ordered all the stuff i still needed, like boots, bodysuits, gloves etc, i also taped of the first pair of boots, now i only need 5 more :D taping off those diamonds on rubber boots is all but nice, because masking tape doesnt stick at all to the boots. packaging tape works ok, but also not too well, guess it will not be too clean, but it honestly doesnt have to be. the arm cuffs are taped neatly, so thats fine.

whats left to do: tint the last 3 visors, put them in, build the boot cuffs for the white ranger, coat, paint, sew on the diamonds on the bodysuits. if i finish all that earlier than 4th of march, then i will put one day into building holsters, so the people can put in their money and keys. but only if i have time

if i can manage that in time, and still have some left, i will start building saba, but i dont think it will come to that.
i am now on vacation for a week, so i cant really do any work except research, but im guessing i can still finish easy in 2 and a half weeks.

i mean a few quick coats on the helmets is done quickly, painting will take some time, but i will just have to hurry.

have some pics of progress :)

Man that shield looks boss! I may PM you with a question.

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - all helmets built! now for other stuff :

well i finished the bodysuits for 3 of the rangers (by literally sewing on the patches while the people were wearing the suits so it fits perfectly), taped off everything thats ready for painting, every piece allready arrived, i made holsters for everyone so that we could put stuff like money etc in, finished all belts, put in all the visors, now all thats left to do is sew the remaining 3 suits (waiting for the people to come so i can do it with them), coat all helmets, belt buckles, and accessories, and then paint. i have exactly 2 weeks of time left, so i think i can make it.

also, while they allready had the suit on, i made them try everything together, and so we got 3 more or less completed suit pics, that actually look like power rangers :D

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - finished! (except for white ranger sword

finally all costumes are finished! the only thing i still HAVE to do, is glue in the power coins into the morphers. but thats 5 mins of work.

what i dont have to do but hopefully will finish till sunday, is the white ranger sword. it allready has its basic shape and is covered with 2 layers of paper mache, only gonna do one more, that should do for stability. after that, all the sculpting on top of it is whats gonna eat up a lot of time.
im gonna sculpt the lion head out of sculpey, the rest will be my proven plastiform, cause it dries fast, is easily sandable, and easy to work with.

with any luck i can do it till sunday, cause we have a photoshoot set for sunday 2 PM, and id like to have my sword for it.
Carneval is on tuesday, so i wanted a photoshoot before that so the costumes dont look like hell :D they will surely take a beating on tuesday.

Final price per person is just about 85 Euros, which is 15 bucks cheaper than the budget green ranger i did last year. im very pleased with that result :)

so here are some photos! :D

Anyway you could make that shield into a pdo file?

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - finished! (except for white ranger sword

Did you just paint the White Ranger shield to get that shinny finish

- - - Updated - - -

Also do you have a template for the arm and boot cuffs

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - finished! (except for white ranger sword

sorry, i dont have templates, as i made them up and threw them away after, but its really not that hard

yes the shield is just painted (coated with pva glue about 5 times first tho :) )

i built the white ranger sword today, its good enough for my liking, because it has to be finished on sunday, otherwise i would do more work on it. but i still have to coat it, and then paint it, and thats a hard enough job in 1 day :D

have a bad quality phone cam pic :D

Re: WIP: all mighty morphing power rangers - finished! (working on white ranger sword

and today, 11 and a half hours before the photoshoot, everything is finished. i wouldve loved to have 1 more day, because i had to paint multiple colors, and had to tape off without the paint being 100% dry, so it has some bad paint spots, that **** me off royally. but its good enough as its only a minor prop with a big group, and it still looks cool. so here, this is the last picture you get before the photoshoot pics :)

I was looking for foam build ideas when I came across your thread - astonishing work, moreso with the budget and time crunch! I can't wait to see your photoshoot pics and put your pdo's to good use! Thank you, kind sir and keep up the amazing work!
