Finished: Custom Mara Jade Lightsaber from scratch

Re: Custom Mara Jade Lightsaber from scratch WIP

This is one I own. It is one of only five that Jeff Parks made identical to the one he made for the CCG in which this saber was first seen.

The functional purpose of the thumbscrew is to gain access to the battery compartment. You take the screw out and the pommel slides out.

Thanks.

Here is what it looks now.

If everything turns out as I plan it will work as lock for the crystal chamber.
When I unscrew the thumbscrew the crystal chamber will slide out together with the endcap.

I fastened the endcap on a acrylic chassis disc I've cut and which is part of the crystal chamber.

I put the screw-nut - which will hold the thumbscrew on the inside - in a brass tube and will build it in the crystal chamber.

This is what I have at the moment.
I think I'll have some time next week to work on this project.
I'll keep you posted.

Re: Custom Mara Jade Lightsaber from scratch WIP

Hi guys,

here are some updates I achieved during the last week.

Space for batteries and crystal compartment.
Will add lights and switch soon.

Re: Custom Mara Jade Lightsaber from scratch WIP

I finished the crystal chamber last evening.
It is completely independent from the hilt and could be switched ON inside and outside the hilt.

Would like to hear your oppinion ;)

Here we go:

Inside the hilt

Outside

That's it.

Last thing to do: An appropriate stand.

My opinion is that if I was gay, I would a BF like you.

My straight opinion is that is an awesome job. I would love to learn how to make the crystal chambers for the Vader ROTS that I'm building.

Thank you my friend.
I have to admit that I'm not very good at long range relationships.
But hey we could talk about it [emoji23]

I'm glad somebody answerd at least to this thread. I think the people aren't interested in not OT sabers [emoji26]

Maybe with the next saber (Yoda or the Luke ESB)

If* I was, dammit one word can change everything haha!

BTW I will ask for your help to see if I can put electronics in my Vader ROTS hilt

Although I can relate to why a lightsaber could be seen as gender related ... still that's quite an accomplishment ... crystal working inside as well as outside the hilt ... very impressive indeed. Sorry I could not reply sooner ... I suppose a threesome is out if the question now :wacko

Sorry about that ;)

It's quite easy. The working pushbutton is installed in the crystal chamber.
To switch it when inside the hilt I attached a pin to the Graflex button which goes through a hole in the hilt. When I push the red Graflex button the pin pushes the pushbutton from the crystalchamber.
I'll take a picture tonight.

Just hard to see but I'm can't get a better picture.
I think you'll get a idea how it works.
