Fine Molds Star Destroyer? (merged threads)

Re: Fine Molds Star Destroyer?

I`m really sorry to do this to you guys but I too thought they were Finemolds models. After a little resaerch I found that the smaller Star Destroyer is a AMT\ERTL\MPC rebuild. Here`s a link and if you scroll to the bottom of the page you can go backwards through the pages to see his build in progress.Alot of the other models are the same type of build-ups as this and NOT finemolds stuff.:confused

It really is an insanely detailed build-up and I only wish I had half that guys talent. :confused

Cheers,
Ben

Well phooey!!:cry That really does look incredible, hard to believe it's the AMT kit. I do wonder about the ISD that looks larger, is that a custom build also? Anyone know? Finemolds needs to get on the ball. At their release rate I'm gonna be an old man before they get to some of the ships I want.:lol

Argh missed this one, too bad... It was too nice to be true !

To me the big one looks like the old MPC ERTL kit and the smaller one looks liek a kiler build of the old argonauts kit... I base this by the FM Ywing next to it which is a pretty small ship in 1/72... The SD looks like its about 1.5-2x the size which is right around the Argonauts SD size as I recall. The larger one doesn't have anythign in the pic that I know the size of but teh "buildings" of the superastructure look liwek teh MPC ones to me with some dressing and good paintjob...

Looks good but not holding my breath... from some of the other pics it looks ike they'll be releasing a snowspeeder adn a TIE X1 though... both good things!

The only thing i dont like is the wrong scale of the tie fighter compared to the Star Cruiser and the Tantive.

I just hope fine molds is watching all of this as they have about a million customers lined up to get one now.........LOL.

Dave :)

Too right Dave, im not really interested in anything non SS, but id for sure want one of these....c'mon Finemolds, you know you want to!

From what I read on another forum, the TIE X1 is most likely a well-built Revell of Germany mini kit, not a FineMolds product. FineMolds next Star Wars kit will be the Snowspeeder in 1/48 scale.
