Fine Molds Millennium Falcon 1/144 - 30 years on ...

Was planning to do this sometime during this week, but rain spoilt other plans over the week-end. So stayed indoors and kept myself busy with this little beauty.

Yes, yes, I know ; painted rust is in the 'wrong' place etc etc.

However, I am not too fussy on that. Rather, I studied the final weathering instruction pic for a few minutes, put it aside, and plodded on till I liked it.

I stopped when it 'felt right' to what the coolest rust-bucket in the galaxy means to me :)

These pics in natural light :

And in its place on display

Re: Fine Molds Millennium Falcon 1/144 - Ready.

Thats a nice kit! Sometimes its nice to just go with the flow. Did you do any washes?

The details on this kit are simply breathtaking.

Nope, no washes, just paintbrush & small smudging.

When I started the weathering, I asked myself what the Millennium Falcon would look like a further 30 years down the line .... and voila the result :)

I felt my MF needed a 'break' from the norm.

Nice model. You may want to tone down the blackness coming from the engine vents. I don't believe the MF ran on coal.

Thanks TazMan2000. But please keep this in mind

What also mattered to me is what it would look like when under display lighting (where it's place will always be).
