Thanks for Wackychimp for hosting.

There are a few pics on my site in the MR section.

I sort of like the stormtrooper, only imo its a mixture of both Hero and Stunt and sort of looks like a Stunt with bubble lenses.

The bump under its right eye doesn't help if theyre looking for the Hero look

Cheers

Jez

I never realized the Assault Phaser was so "clear". :p

Seriously this stuff looks like it has promise. Now if MR can end their prototype to
production curse I might be interested.

I love the Fett helmet.

Don't count on the blueprints - they offered them early on for the Han Blaster and a few other items and they didn't sell.

the V dagger looks nice, handle looks a little flat, not rounded leather grips, but man, that display is horrible, would of looked alot better on a hanging plaque or something.

The blueprints have me pretty excited. I hope they'll sell those too.

Amy said that the blueprints were made for display at Toy Fair only. They will not be made available for sale.

boba looks superb even though he is more symmetrical now. :(

wow.

the trooper... not so much...

the mouth paintjob is WAAAAAAAAAAAY off of what the heros were, and people talk about my bucket lookin a little soft.... that thing is so soft i think i could sleep on it. :(

dear god, and if you look a bit lower (the pick with the clear prototype trek phaser) you can see the side of A trooper helmet... are they making a stunt? yet?

cause if not, then that hero has stunt ears... :( WTF is going on... and why dont they give people who know these things jobs??? :unsure

I think their goal is a stunt/hero hybrid, somewhat idealized but still asymmetrical.

I can understand that approach, but I fear in the end all you have is something that doesn't look like a stormtrooper. Would love to be wrong.

dude...

look at it...

i mean...

look at it.

:(

i was seriously untill an hour ago dead set on owning this thing.

well looks like the only bucket ill ever possibly own from them is the clone trooper, cause at least in that case the use of symmetry is correct.

not the TK though... its just... wrong. :(

oh well here goes my hopes for an accurate MR vader reveal. :(

There's a few on my site in the MR section, including this one

Someone tell them to remove the bump, otherwise we're going to have to call it a STERO. (Or a HUNT)

Cheers

How about a Shunt trooper :)

Ugh. It's what I was afraid of, takes away the entire "look" of the movie helmets. I'm not even talking about the symmetrical look of the thing, but just the overall changes made. It's lost something in translation.

The Fett though does look mighty nice..

Boba looks amazing. And for MR's target audience, I think the trooper looks very reasonable.

You guys, come on, you must know that they are trying their best to appeal to mainstream buyers who most likely wouldn't want a bumpy, lopsided helmet like we would. Costumers run into this all the time with fans. When we make a costume that's screen-accurate, especially with all the eccentricities - fans are left sometimes scratching their heads wondering, "Why does Threepio have a silver leg?" or "Why is Boba Fett wearing a thong??" Mainstream fans (not hardcore, prop extremists like us) have idealized images in their heads of what they remember. I think it's great that MR has gone o the effort to give fans this trooper helmet instead of what fans have had to choose from in the past. (thanks Jez for the pics)

Ha. Sorry I couldn't resist that last one.

Well, then they should go 100% symmetrical and stop this wonky business.

As I posted on my own forum:

With this latest prototype reveal... I really think they should have tried doing the idealized symmetrical version instead of replicating the wonky original look and getting it wrong.

You can't have an idealized wonky helmet and not piss off the purists and you can't have a wonky symmetrical helmet and not piss of the general regular Star Wars fan. You can't have it both ways - either do it 100% accurate or do it 100% idealized and symmetrical and perfect.

Just my opinion.[/b]
