Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler - Done!

Re: Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler

Awesome Kevin, I must remember to finnish my SC one day, you've given me a nudge though.......thanks.

Cant wait to see it displayed on its very impressive base mate.

Re: Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler

Yeah, can't wait to take some sunlight/dusk pictures with it on the base. Even more excited to finally clear this space on my side bench. :thumbsup

Guy - yeah, when are you going to finish yours... has it been sitting on the bench longer than mine has? :lol

A view of the "dark" side...

Re: Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler

Got it all done except for the final blending/weathering on the bogeys. Took it outside to snap a few pics before losing sunlight... almost there now!

Re: Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler

Love the work on this. Excellent paintjob and weathering. :thumbsup

Re: Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler

Thanks... I had a few builds to look at for you guys that did yours out of the gate a while back. Much appreciated... :thumbsup

Finishing the bogey weathering tonight and should be cooler out tomorrow evening to take some final pics. Found a couple of tubes of sand that I used to throw in my pickup over the winter, so I may try to take some "extended" desert pics... :love

Re: Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler

Wrapped up the bogeys... few pics.

Wierd: A forest fire 450 miles away in MN and exact wind conditions have the outside air conditions here very smokey for the next couple of days. Kind of annoying outside and the sky is too hazy for good pics. Whew - thought the stormtroopers had shot up my sandcrawler to get the droids! :lol

Will take some final pics and post this weekend... what a fun project this one was!

Re: Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler

The sun and clouds were partly cooperating, so I ran out and got a few final shots. Had to work around all the background noise in the pics (power lines, houses, etc.). One of the few I could position with a sky shot...

Re: Finally finishing my Cooper Crawler

And a few close-ups / details... Enjoy! Now back to "that other massive project"... now that my bench is clear! :cool

Thanks!

One minor addition... darkened up the jawas and added more flat. Think I grabbed a jar of flat earth wash originally... they were still a bit light and shiny.

Look for Micromachines Jawas on the web or eBay. They're approximately 1/96 scale. For R2 and 3PO look for "classic characters". There are 2 varieties, either will work well.

As I look at the pics of your work, I'm hearing the Dune Sea Sandcrawler track by John Williams, in my head.

Very nice. I wanted this kit but since I never have built any real kit, it's not the best to start with. It would be a shame to mess that one up :behave

Good job.
