Fifth Element blaster

I got one of these off ebay as well, the wires are still in the gun but the battery components have been removed, I still have to get parts from Radio shack to get it working :facepalm. Metal parts for it sound VERY cool :cool:thumbsup I'll be checking it out, thanks Risu!:cheers
One thing I really like about this blaster: Left handed (y)D

Once I get this thing moving, I'm also going to have to finally make a stand for it. Should actually be very easy compared to the gun itself, which actually isn't that difficult either if I can get my hands on a specific router bit.

So today I finally started learning Solidworks to make the 3d models for all the parts. It's pretty simple, just going to take some practice to memorize all the commands and more importantly where they're all located. So many menus and tabs.... After I finish a couple more tutorials I'm going to try drawing up one of the blaster parts. I'll post a screen grab here when it's done.

The part I decided to start with was the front receiver (the black part of the barrel). It's coming along. About 1/3 of the way there. Hard to say exactly. I've got the basic shape right, not I just need to cut the surface details in, mirror it, and cut it the front and back recesses/hollow it out. Might have something to show in the next couple days.
