Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

Can I say it? Wicked awesome!

Are your control panels cast from an original component or all they all originals? It was a car, boat, or plane dash board wasn't it?

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

Fantastic. Want to build me a set of panels? :)

Can't wait to see it finished.

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

That looks awesome! Maybe I should get to work on mine...:rolleyes

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

Sulla,
The control panels (with the exception of the 4 small chrome parts) are built from scratch. I am not sure of their origins...I don't think anything has ever been confirmed.

Here is a little video of the WIP lights for the hero control panel.

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

Where did you get the polyurethane han at?? The work looks great, keep it up.

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

as the former owner of the han front panel this is made from.. let me just say... you've done an AWESOME job with it! im sooooooo glad to see it almost completed instead of sitting on my floor in the corner. :lol its looking GREAT Vos... cant wait to see the completed item!

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

Neil... did you lean over your side panels at the 4.5 degrees, or cut them square?

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

The sides are angled (except for the base). The camera lens really masks the angles, but you can see them better here before the box was constructed:

Matt, glad you like it so far :)
Vince, actually I have very few props now....I keep selling 'em off and starting again :rolleyes

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

So what do you think it would cost to do a run of the angled sides and shipped out? I have never seen anyone offer the MDF frame.

I'm actually researching this at the moment because I met the guy making the rubber front casts at Fan Days and one is here at my shop. I'm going to make templates for doing the panels using it. With these two parts and the good side pieces, greeblies and stickers being done, I think a lot of people will get a nice carbonite now without all the hassle.

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

Your work is really above average to say the least (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

The first time I heard of a han in carbonite I thought it was neat but I really was not that impressed with what I saw.

What I see of what you have hear is very impressive and makes my competitive parts itch.

I love what you doing and I can't wait to see it finished.

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

What can I say....

Han in Carbonite is my *dream* prop, and you are making it happen... *sigh*

Well done, I'm very jealous. :)

Re: WIP: Han Solo in Carbonite

Wow, if I had a place to put one, I'd want you to make it man. That is top notch. :)
