Fiberglass resin? Would liquid plastic work instead?

Hello everyone!
I just finished a master chief helmet out of paper, and am looking to harden it next.
I purchased liquid plastic for my first iron man build, and have tons left over. But now i'm looking into fiber-glassing.
Would the liquid plastic work instead of buying a whole new thing of Resin? I have no clue of the ingredients or properties of resin, or the plastic for that matter, so have not clue if this is even plausible or not.
Thanks guys!
Mintod.

Liquid plastic?

I need a better explanation than that. One component? Two component? Brand? Photo of container?

If I google liquid plastic, I am directed to a Smooth-On 2-part urethane. Is this what we are discussing?

Technically it will work. You may not have time to use the fiberglass cloth, but you can slush cast the resin inside the helmet to harden it. Once you have a feel for the working time, then do the outside. It will work and has been done before. If you really want to have fiberglass inside then you can use 3M super 77 spray adhesive on the inside and then stick the fiberglass to it and slush cast the resin around and brush it into crevices. I would slush cast the resin first to help fill in the crevices and help reduce possible air pockets.

Now I understand.

Answer: Yes, you can use the SmoothCast 305 to harden your helmet.

IMO, no fiberglass is necessary. The smoothcast would work by itself. used in light coats, it will stiffen the helmet without warping the paper.

It will work, you'll just have to be fast, I've done similar, only inside a mold. If the stuff sticks to itself, all the better, if not each subsequent layer must be appplied before the previous has sad a chance to harden completely . Keep your batches of resin small so it won't harden in the cup. You'll have about 5 min of working time, give or take.
