Ferengi Language & Rules of Acquisition

A few years back I was all about the Ferengi alien race from Star Trek. I made a Ferengi mask and a costume and even ran a web site for a few years called "FerengiNews.com" (which has since been taken down.)

One of the things I like to do when costuming is to have what I call "incidental" props. These are things that make the character I'm doing more real. Things like my rebel "Wanted Posters" for when I troop in my stormtrooper or sandtrooper armor.

Sometimes these "incidentals" can simply be knowledge. What is the character's language like? Why do they do what they do?

It was for THOSE reasons... those "incidental knowledge props" that I took the time to create the following things for my Ferengi character. I've kept them for so long, and the RPF is the right place to finally share them. Hope you enjoy!

Live long and profit!

Absolutely fantastic stuff! Let's get together for a game of tongo - I'll bring my latinum.

Thanks man!

I feel I should say, for everyone else's knowledge, it was a series of messages with Sulla that prompted me to dig these up and post them here... so thanks man! :cool

OK, I'll do it... :rolleyes Who can tell me what diameter the large outer ring is?

Based on the first picture of the Ferengi sitting around the table I'd say it's about the width of a hand that is slightly spread.

Whoa, total post hijack! :eek

I'll take this else where if you want me to TK8541.

Sorry, I meant diameter from the center. I imagine the wheel is one large disk on bottom with a smaller diameter disk on a bearing atop the bottom one.

Ah! I thought you were wanting to know the width of the "markings" on the table.

The table diameter (all the way from edge to edge) is about 4' I'd say. It looks like you could JUST reach across it if you leaned a little. Don't you think?

Are there any ex Paramount employees on here who would know? :confused

I have molds on the front & back covers of the Rules of Acquisition...
NICE!
Pictures? :)

If I were into the Ferengi like I was two years ago I'd jump on that... but I've got my irons in too many other fires now.

Just don't trash them... because I do go in cycles. ;)
