It's lovely to see some life in this thread again, this has always been one of my favourite costumes and it;s great to see that there are still people interested in Farscape costuming.
With regards to my costume, A short while ago I finally managed to get my hands on a few of the screen accurate 2" YKK side release buckles for the belt. The belt has been the one thing I've never been happy with with my costume. I still need to get an actual leather belt and silver the front of the buckle, but I think I can finally call this costume complete.

I don't have any screen used costumes, but I do own a screen used belt pouch from Crichton's costume (there are pictures of it at the top of page two of this thread) Also, while I may not own it, I have worn the original screen used duster and vest ...

Funnily enough, I was about to come here to talk about the short black jacket.
I used to have one of Pendragon's black jackets, like the vest and the duster, the construction was very good, though despite using the same measurements I used for the vest and the duster, I found it never really fit me properly. Never the less, the quality of the jacket was very good. As to the red stitching, by the third season Farscape had become visually very dark, so it's quite difficult to tell what the real colours of things are. Your best bet for a fair comparison would be to watch Scratch N' Sniff which took place mostly in daylight. Personally, I didn't feel that the stitching was too bright (at least from what I can remember, it was a long time ago that I had the jacket)
Now, for what I was going to come here to talk about, I've decided to try my hand at making the short jacket myself. Last summer I built myself a BSG flight suit despite not having done anything like that before, and it came out surprisingly well. So this year, I thought I'd try my hand at putting together Crichton's short jacket. I've already ordered the screen accurate buckles for it, and have starting going though some of the episodes to look for decent screen shots to show the detail (again, my first port of call was Scratch N' Sniff)
There are surprisingly few pictures of it that I could find on google, short of one or two promotional pictures that weren't of sufficient quality to be of any real use. Still, the construction looks to be similar to that of the vest, so I'm going to be reverse engineering a pattern from my vest and going from there. If anyone has any decent shots of the jacket handy, I'd be grateful if you could post them.

As for where I got the buckles, I ordered them from this site - http://www.sailrite.com/All-Hardwar...d/YKK/type/Products?order=custitem_popularity The buckles for the short jacket are the 1" rotary centre release buckles. The vest buckles are the 1" side release heavy duty buckles, and the gun belt buckle is the 2" side release heavy duty buckle. Hope that helps

Excellent. If you've found a source for the non-black leather, please post. I can't find a colour match I'm happy with ANYWHERE.

Which non-black leather do you mean? The jacket I'm making is the all black jacket from season 3/4 (unless I've missed something and there's a bit of colour, other than the stitching, that I missed ... I do need to dig out some screen shots)

Ahh, right. Now I'm with you. Depending on how things go with the black jacket, I might have a go at the vest as well.
As for leathers, I found the one that Pendragon uses was pretty close to the screen used one for colour, might be worth dropping them an email to see what they use

We don't actually see John wearing a comms-badge past season 1. In a few of the episodes he was wearing on on the belt loops of his trousers, but as soon as he started wearing the leathers we never saw it again.
Once or twice we see Aeryn wearing one on the inside of her vest, once they switch to the leathers, so the assumption can be made that John is doing the same.
