Farnsworth Flybox Paint Job

Hey Guys. I cant quite identify this paint job QMX did on the flybox cases. It dosent look like the dab sponge technique, but almost air brushed maybe??? Any suggestions as to how this was done.
Im going to apply the same technique to my wheatley flybox.
