So, I made this a while ago, but it was the first complex prop that I ever made, and I'm quite proud of it. I know that it's not exactly a screen accurate replica of the Stimpak from the the video games, but I think that's it's a pretty close approximation of one. Figuring out what I could use to make something that looked like the Stimpak was quite the exercise in creativity for me lol. Figuring out how everything was going to fit together was also a hard challenge for me too, but I have to say that making this was what more or less pushed me over the edge into the prop making world lol. I loved making this, and now I love making even more things.
The pieces that I used for the construction are:
1. 10mm syringe tube
2. Aluminum tire pressure gauge from the auto parts store (aluminum works best for it's light weight)
3. A blunted nail (to simulated the needle)
4. Flat, thin gauge brass strip for the crossbar piece
5. A/V cable wire
6. Metal washer (I forget what size, but it fits over the end of the tire gauge in order to affix it to the top of the syringe tube)
7. 2mm sticky-backed craft foam (for the "metal casing" of the syringe tube)
I'm currently in the process of getting a tutorial video made up for this, and I've got the first part up on my YouTube already, but getting the second part up is going to take a bit longer than I had originally anticipated (given current circumstance in my life). Tell me what you guys think, I'd love to hear your opinions, thoughts, and comments. I'm new to the RPF and this is my first posting, so be gentle lol.
