Fallout: New Vegas (Video Game)

lol. i'm really tempted to just use the files as templates and build the stuff out of wood instead like when you use the pep files to make patterns for armor. I think i have the fallout 3 combat shotgun too. The shotguns in NV are a bit of a letdown and none of them are as fun as the one in fallout that goes 3 round burst lol.

That will be cool, keep us updated if you do plan on doing that. :D

Alright guys, I got my hands on an image of both the in-game lunch box & ncr cash together. Im going to measure it out in relation to the lunch box from the collector's edition of FO3 then I will try to give the resizing a go, but it may loose a lot of detail just because in the game, the money is about as big as the lunch box. I will post my results here though for you guys to play around with

I wish you luck lol. I'll laugh if it is something simple like being the same size as our modern cash (since WW2 era cash was that size and that seems to be the standard for stuff in the fallout universe). I'm thinking of making some hand written props based on the written ones from the game like the reciept from the Legion for Boone's wife and baby, the silly one about essence you find in Nipton (which is a direct reference to Dr Strangelove) and i'm going to see if i can find an image of the lotto ticket from Nipton too.

the money is a bit big,
3 inches long,(|)
9 inches wide (--)
* I put the symbols there to show my point of view, if you look at it from a different point of view, it would be 9 inches long, 3 inches wide. (aka, my OCD coming out)*

Idk, In my opinion that would be a recource hog. Im going to keep mine at 3 (|) by 5 (--)
I am also going to play around with it and make it the length of the U.S currency just to see what it would look like. But I believe I have it big enough to look like the game money, without distorting it.

If you do find/make the lottery ticket, please post it, thats one I would like to have to :D

i'll keep an eye out. I'm gonna test print one side of the cash at normal reality size to see but it may distort alot. Actually i think the cash in the book is that scale i have to look so maybe they posted it in there actual size. if it matches or is close we know we're on the right track.

book? But yea if you make look and feel like real money, and replicate it perfectly, I might have to request two of each for myself (well if it does not cost too much).

I have to wait a bit, I'm getting geared up to print out all the stuff i need for my halo costume (damn ink for being so expensive). I'm being cheap and printing all my pep stuff on the lowest setting in all black since that's cheaper in 2 packs. The cash is actually shown in the fallout NV hardbacked guide book. i still didn't look it up, been sick still.

Its np, I understand.
I did not realize that the images were in the book, thats good though...I will look into it :D

The cash, a ton of posters and such. I'm so getting a handheld scanner so i can get better scans. They put all the stuff you want to scan right near the binding so it won't lay flat. It's only in the hardcover of the guide, it has 32 extra pages.

Yea I did a quick search for scans and I saw the image.
You know, it would be neat if they included one or two of each bill, plus other little paper props with the hardcover book.

yeah. Or instead of that comic book in the box set that brings nothing to the table other than backstory i coulda done without. I'd rather have had a few more paper props. I think i'm going to print some of the personal letters and other stuff you find (i need to work on my handwriting lol). I was wondering if half the messages you get are handwritten or if the NCR and legion have working typewriters. I figure they have computers and probably printers (used sparingly). My paper props of the ammo boxes are blurry since they were made from in game images but the more i thought about it after 200 eyars sitting around they'd be lucky the cardboard was even in one piece under the best vault conditions. I'd have loved a 3" mini nuke to set on my desk lol. I did get the casino drink coasters. Guy on ebay wanted 15.00, our kmart still had the sets for 5.99 each. Had to ask for help, they were in the dvd area as they're in dvd cases. Nobody even knew kmart had them.

I still want at least 3 game accurate stimpacks, some microfusion cells, and other little things. I recently got the pulse gun in game....that thing is awesome looking, I would love to have one of those laying on my desk lol

lol. I haven't seen any pep files for that. I have a file for all the energy cells but they're not that good as they aren't round. What i may do is print them and mount them to some wood. I like the cell that volpin made for his laser rifle. I'm working on a stimpack, not sure how accurate since you never see anyone holding them but they don't seem much bigger than your normal needle for the most part. I am tempted to try and come up with some business cards with House's info on them.

Cool...well yea like I said keep us updated...on the fallout stuff and your armor..is there a thread for that?

Not yet. Nobody looks at the threads in my signature so i figure i wont' start new ones for a while lol. I'm going to cheat and use Volpin's laser rifle blue prints as a paper prop too once i get them printed lol.

lol. I doubt he minds as long as he gets credit. Plus all the work he put into drawing it up he should be proud. I should list him on it as a BOS Scribe lol.

My friend was telling me that a good way to make the ncr cash look like real money, would be to put it in the dryer.
he also told me that, that is how counterfeit is made to look real....I didnt ask him how he knew that :p

lol. Yeah they used putting in some quarters or something like that to rough it up. I don't have a dryer though lol. I didnt have much luck finding paper that even remotely looks like the stuff the mint uses (probably a reason for that) so i just went with some nice cream colored paper since the thing will print out in the correct colors over it.
