Fallout: New Vegas (Video Game)

If anyone is interested Kmart has promo items from the game (a set of 4 drink coasters) for 5.00. I got 2 sets since it was all the cash i had. they're going for 9.99 before shipping on ebay. theyr'e hard to find because they're in dvd cases so you'll have to look with the loose games.
I'm going to be posting the posters in the poster thread here in the paper prop area.

I think that's the best scan of the coin and cash we'll get. i can always scan the cash again, figures they'd put it on the inside edge of the page where the spine is.

i can manage that i think. or at least the size they come up on my comp. Funny thing is that in paint the bills are massive. i wonder if photobucket is shrinking them down. Any ideas why the stuff shrinks when i post it yet in the paint window its bigger than my hand? Okay resizing isn't working as paint keeps crashing my pc. if i send someone the jpg can they modify it to the right size for a big posting?

i just need to figure out the upload settings on photobucket. I just cranked it up so watch this one be too bid. Its a cover of the pre order cd you got at gamestop. I got the cd but needed the cover. It isn't 100% perfect and the scale is a tad off when i printed so you'd have to fiddle but just fold and cut out tabs on the sides to fold in and glue.

I do so love the fallout 3 soundtrack, but played the game so much, I've gotten kind of tired of the songs....Now there's New Vegas, and with it a whole slew of new songs to get tired of!

lol. I swear out of all the songs in NV the radios always ahve the same 3 on. Sorry i haven't uploaded the other stuff again. i haven't felt so good the last few days.

So if anyone makes perfect replicas, how much would it be to send me one or two of each??? I made a ton for/by myself, but I would love to own some made by experienced prop makers.
(the NCR cash that is)

Did we ever figure out what the proper size was for those things? I have several types of fancy paper with various textures to see if i can find one that is close. I doubt they'd use normal smooth paper.

I want to say about 5 inches or less... like i said, if i can get a screen shot of the lunch box next to the money (from above looking directly down at them) I could get the measurements of the lunch box in game, divide it by the measurements of the lunch box that came with the special edition, and then multiply what i get by the measurements of the money in the image.....from that i can get you the size it would be in game

I'd print it the size of our real money since they'd more than likely be using the same machinery and its preset for that size and if i was them i wouldn't want to do any more retooling than needed. Probably took forever to engrave new plates which is why you only see 3 kinds of bills.

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with :D
lol It would be cool to make about ten of each (it would also be a resource hog) and donate them to the light saber contest or something, I would but mine are not perfect :\

yeah i'm printing out some papercraft ammo boxes and other items and sheesh they're eating ink. plus i have to take the images off teh pdf because for some reason it messes with my printer and freezes it up which I hope doesn't happen when printing pepfiles.

Yea....and the size factor is another thing,
However, I noticed that some things are different from the game & the real world.
For example the lunch box in the game is almost square, while the lunch box in real life is rectangular. the promotional nuka cola bottles were a different shape, and other stuff...so i mean I guess the ncr money being a little smaller than what it looks like on screen would be fine (as long as it is not too small and it still retains the details).
Oh and the legion coins seem to be the size of a bottle cap

I also think the screen manages to distort stuff alot too as the shapes always seem a bit off.

Very true.
Oh hey you mentioned that you were making the papercraft stuff...if supplies allowed for it, would it be possible for someone to make the alien pistol papercraft model, mold it, and then cast it?

It probably would be easy to do just like molding a pep helmet. I have no casting supplies to try at the moment. I should be focusing on halo stuff since i need a spartan suit by april lol. i figured since i'm sick and sitting here i'd just start printing. Some of the stuff i'm not sure about. The grenades seem pointless as you can probably find or make pieces of wood the right size and just shape them a bit and paint them. as it is i'm actually mounting the printed card stock on pieces of wood the right shape so they look better. if i could find some resin casts of the ammo to go with them it would be even better. i may try making wooden bullets at some point. Yet another reason i need a lathe/milling machine lol. Bakc to the alien pistol: i actually have the files for that one, a laser pistol. the mininuke is one of those ones that doesn't look right as its kinda boxy so i'm going to find something real world to use for it. some shapes just don't turn out right for pep/papercraft. The round ammo for the plasma and laser guns don't look right and you'd have to put them around a round container anyhow. the file has a light up alien power cell but i found a frosted glass container for 1.00 that i can rig the same way and it looks better.

If I had the supplies, and the know how, I would give it a shot.
I would love to have the laser pistol and alien blaster (well i would love to have all the weapons, but that may be a stretch :D)

lol. i'm really tempted to just use the files as templates and build the stuff out of wood instead like when you use the pep files to make patterns for armor. I think i have the fallout 3 combat shotgun too. The shotguns in NV are a bit of a letdown and none of them are as fun as the one in fallout that goes 3 round burst lol.
