Fallout maria help

I just began making the 9mm Maria gun from Fallout new Vegas. Does anyone have a idea what the best route for making the engravings on the gun would be? The gun so far is mdf and styrene.

I believe the collectors edition strategy guide had some extra stuff on the weapons. Including a pic of Maria.
