Fallout 4

Its one of the possible mods for the Torso, you need most of the Armorer and blacksmith perks I believe. And then whatever material needs.

For your pickpocketing idea, that'll do it, if your pickpocket perks are up there.

You can't swim in armour, you can walk the ocean floor (but eventually the suit runs out of air), You can't sleep in armour (or use a bed)., Don't know about the "getting the strength back" I guess there might be a perk that regenerates health, but I'd just eat food or stimpak.

Looking forward to getting the jetpack... is that a find or a purchase in the game?

Interesting.... The next time they're at that quarry I'm going to stealth boy up to the raider in the power suit and see if I can pick-pocket him out of it.

So... if you go to long without sleeping your strength starts dropping?

For as slow as I'm leveling up I'm not sure I want to waste perks on blacksmith. I'm sure it would be much easier to just find it out in the waste.

I haven't been building up my pick pocket perk at all. I don't think that's ever been one I put much into in any of the games.

I want to say there's a perk for breathing underwater... but you can also make mirelurk cakes that give you 30 minutes of underwater breathing. Might be cool to find some goodies on the ocean floor just walking around in the water for a while.

I dumped perks into Science, Armorer, and Gun Nut as soon as the level thresholds were reached for each rank. I've long since gotten them maxed (and have a suit of T-60f armor with the jet pack), and that's all from side quests and exploring. In the main quest, I still haven't sat down with Nick to go over what I remember of the man who shot my wife and kidnapped my son, I haven't joined the Brotherhood, I haven't talked to the Railroad, and since I've yet to meet Kellogg, I've obviously not been to the Institute yet. I think I'm around level 61 or so.

And at last count, I have nineteen power armor frames. That's just scavenged from the Wasteland, not bought from vendors, and having dumped the perma-stolen one in the middle of a lake out of annoyance (just the frame, mind). I have one suit of "classic" T-45d in military paint, eight suits of T-45f in Minuteman paint (two still missing helmets, but thanks to Rowdy, that's only a matter of time). I really, really want to be able to have the Minutemen at the Castle get into it and stay in it as part of the whole "rebuilding the Minutemen" thing. Then I have a set of Winterized T-51b in homage to Operation: Anchorage from F3 (wish it had nigh-infinite health, though), Vault-Tec T-51c armor in homage to the Secret Vault in Texas from Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, three sets of T-51f in each of the three Hot Rodder color schemes, one set of Atom Cats T-60f, two sets of T-60 I'm keeping for when I get the Brotherhood ranks (total of three, one of which I'll get from them -- gonna put the Brotherhood's legendary armor pieces on the highest-ranking one, and the piezonucleic chest piece for the mid-level one)... and one suit of X-01 mkVI in EMP coating that I use for general running around (since I love the protection, but have never liked how it looks).

I just wish there were paint apps for Raider power armor. I want to make my suit a nice weathered bronze, for a nice Big Daddy look...

I didn't think they were that effective?

1000 rad resistance. Actually more effective that power armour in that regard. Just very low physical defence. I kill things from a distance so no biggie there.

I get way too much pleasure from sniping from a comfortable distance... and I get proportionately angry when I'm doing it with a suppressed rifle and they still end up running directly to my location.

Wow... you are like the Jay Leno of Power Armor. ;)

Lol I'm just as bad, I literally have a building full of armors. I need to make a list of what is what so i can give them all different paint and parts.

You should put them all in one space and then put frag mines all around them and see if you can launch all of them all over the place

Core should definitely be usable. After blowing up a sentry bot you get the cores and that thing acts as if the cores themselves are detonating. With the exception of the one quest where you have to use the power armour (saving the Minutemen) I didn't wear power armour once for a mission during my initial run through. Only to collect suits that I found. Even then, I've got about a dozen laying around. Maybe if I'm looking for more to do I'll collect suits and have them in every paint scheme.

I think I've done the opposite and used power armor in 90% of the game. Having the Pain Train perk maxed is awesome! You can steamroll a super mutant and then shoot him while he's down. The one I don't like is the last Nuclear Physicist perk that lets you dump a core as a bomb. I've nuked my leg armor more times than I can't count when I hit bash and it dumped a core.

Same here. I've got a two story building full. I'm level 94 and I have 17 complete sets and a bunch missing a few pieces.

I was playing last night and was wondering where your settlers are getting gas for the generators. They sure sound like combustion engines running. It would make more sense to build something using fusion cores or something.

My other complaint is how fast cores burn up in the armor, how were these even useful in combat? You think they'd have a way you could recharge them like the weapon cells in other games. I agree it's odd that in a world where oil was nearly gone there's gasoline generators, unless they're making biofuel. Then again this world uses 1950s scifi physics so who knows lol

I'm a hoarder of PA. I have over 50 frames, with various pieces all stored in my workshop. I steal them from every BoS member and raider I come across

That's funny. I was thinking the same thing. I think the cars run on fusion or nuclear or something... so it would have made more sense to have those as an item to be scrapped from the cars that are all over the place.

I wonder if the DLC will have some place or device available to recharge them.

Apparently there's a mod out now that stops Preston from burying you in missions. I've also seen some really nice paint mods for the armors too including being able to paint the frames themselves without the armor on them. I'm hoping for more choice in furnishings and tweeks to the build system so buildings go up straight and not at an angle no matter how you try to line things up with the foundation.

One step closer to CoD Advanced warfare Exo point jobs... which completely turned me off of that game.

Sadly Fallout's already kinda turning into COD with each new game. Soon the RPG elements will be gone for good.

I've thought the same thing. It's a useless game mechanic. Unless the fusion cores were super rare like people said right after the game came out, it makes no sense. Anything nuclear should last a long time. They also should have maybe made them so the slightest damage to the EXPOSED NUCLEAR DEVICE, wouldn't blow you up. :lol

A week after the game came out I posted that I hated him and got called racist. :lol Now everyone agrees. Maybe he should get his butt to Abernathy Farm and figure out why those morons can't defend their settlement and keep getting abducted despite it having a 180 defense rating (for me)!

I don't really have a problem with them. What I didn't like is the Atom cats. It's sort of funny because they are like a car club, but Power Armor is supposed to take special training to use. I guess you might learn it by trial and error. It's just too much. Like cars though, it makes sense that you would want to personalize your armor. I'm not a big fan of the pink armor though. I guess someone thought if a woman plays the game she would have to have pink...

Hey, I'm a guy and I LOVE PINK!

Has anyone found the bar from Cheers yet? Apparently it's downtown someplace and full of corpses of the cast lol

No Cheers yet.... not sure I've even gotten downtown.

One thing I noticed when fighting Synths that I think is really cool.
They've done this to me on multiple occasions and I don't think I've ever seen raiders do it.
If I'm anywhere near a car they always shoot the car and blow it [and me] up. They also have some pretty good tactics, although I"ve noticed the AI in general has been improved. Their movements are still a little predictable but they at least duck down, shoot from behind cover, etc.
