Fallout 4 Pipe Rifle (airsoft, gas blowback)

Sometimes, a man has to... oh, who am I kidding. I MADE A GUN OUT OF GARBAGE!!! I'm making the pipe gun in rifle form from Fallout 4 and the sad part is I haven't even built my new gaming rig to play the damn game yet! I'm using upright 1911 mags for a ".45 receiver" upgrade even though the in-game model makes no physical distinction between .38 or .45 receivers or magazines. So I left the original .38 magwell intact as a sort of legacy part and just plugged it up with a cover, but can be turned back into a more game accurate representation with the fake .38 mag put in its place.

First, I removed all the unnecessary bits. "But the mainspring housing, trigger and leaf spring are necessary." REMOVE ALL THE BITS!

Stuffing what's left in a wooden receiver. Split in 3 parts (left, right, top) because there's no other way to put the guts inside.

Pipe receiver and slide converted to work like a bolt carrier.

New hammer strut

Redesigned MSH with the leaf spring exposed. I could have covered it, but it looks so damn awesome this way.

Stock assembly. I wanted to do the pistol at first, but turned out to be impossible to wield.

Side magwell and some kind of metal... thing.

Sights. I had to make them taller as the one in the game had the same sights for pistol and rifle which are impossible to use in rifle form.

Magwell cover for when using .45 mags

Cosmetic .38 magazine for display purposes only.

Almost done rifle in .38 and .45 configurations. GI wire reinforcement will come after all the paint and weathering work.

And a test video from when I got all the internals working properly.

Always been a fan of your work; such awesome stuff. I love custom airsoft guns, especially scratch built replicas from video games and anime. Can't wait to see the final reveal!

As always, the end result of your projects are always beyond awesome; I love it! You've gotta don some Raider armor and take some action shots with that beauty. :D

Beautiful! Makes me want to try making one... but unfortunately, I doubt I have the skills or the materials necessary to give this a shot. Maybe one day...!

Haha! I know. Dunked them overnight in rust promoter but all that's done is take some of the zinc plating off. When the paint job gets enough of a beating from use (and I intend on using it a lot) I'm looking at refinishing it with real oxidation and make iron/steel parts to replace the aluminum and stainless ones.

So, all that rust is phony? I thought the rusty bits in post #4 were your parts, but were they just for reference?

Thanks!
Mike J. - Yup. Them really crusty parts were just reference material for the paintjob. A lot of the parts were actually sourced from them, but as I had to make cuts left a big contrast between severely rusted and steel in the white so I just decided to paint everything to get a more uniform look for the meantime.

Using it in games for quite a while, I got sick of the iron sights. So I made a reflex! Just a normal electronic dot though, no nails for crosshairs or nuclear material to make it glow.

Then I made a new magazine, just a little longer to fit a surprise inside. Plays "The Wanderer" when reloading.
