FAKE Jackal on sale in the UK!

Here's a heads up for anyone in the UK that might be eye-balling this auction!
Not only do the UK Laws forbid the sale of knives there, this one is a FAKE!
And the seller even has the nerve to list it as screen used!

The seller doesn't give the dimensions of the knife in the description area (First Clue)
The signature on the blade is on the WRONG side and is too short (SECOND Clue)
A border edge appears at the finger guard level that doesn't exist on the real thing (THIRD Clue)
The coloring on the handle is GOLD which is all wrong, it should be two shades of brown (FOURTH Clue)

I feel sorry for the fellow thats bid on it, I wish he could be informed as well.

Yeah, I have one of these that I got because it was so much cheaper than the original. (Bought before the law changed and mine wasn't being passed off as a Jackal) It's actually called Wolf and, on mine at least, isn't well put together (the handle is loose). But for a 'close enough' sitting on the shelf, it's ok.

Edit: I just looked at mine. That 'signature' is where it says stainless steel. On the other side it says 'China'

OK...so pretty clearly what we're looking at in that auction is the OTHER Chinese knock-off of the Jackal.
What's the length on that Angelus?
Great pics...mind if I use them on my informational page?

UK laws don't forbid the sale of knives here at all, that is incorrect. Quite the opposite, we can own any knife except autos, gravity knives and balisongs. Ebay UK doesn't allow UK buyers to buy or sell knives within the UK, but it does allow us to sell knives outside the UK. I wish people could get that right.

Thanks Angelus!

Heads up gents!
The auction was PULLED! BUT has now been re-listed without photos...I think that is what is referred to as DODGY in the UK:
Buffy prop season 3 original with COA on eBay (end time 14-Oct-10 00:03:55 BST)

The new auction has just been pulled as well.
I contacted the seller and requested a pic of the COA, here's what she sent me:

I know it's small but it has Mark Taliani's Name on it and I'm fairly certain he never signed any COA's while president of WB.
Anyway, the knife was the same as the one in the other auction of her's that was pulled...a cheap Chinese Knock-off.
Absolutely NOT screen used but the "stainless Steel" stamped on one side tells you that!
Anyone know some more of the specifics on COA's that were distributed or not by the WB and or anyone else?
I know that the earliest ones were issued by The Lange Family but I'm curious about specifics...
I have an e-mail in to Mark though so I should know more soon.
Alway's go to the Horses Mouth when you can!

Thanks Angelus!

Good lord, do they let you buy ANYTHING from eBay?

No, it's disgusting. Our knife laws here are pretty relaxed. Ebays stance on banning sales and selling of knives and multi tools is actually violating EU Human Rights laws. Not only that, but because people take Ebays knife restrictions as that of the UK knife law, many US and other overseas sellers have stopped sales to the UK on their own sites not affiliated with Ebay because they think it is illegal. It isn't. ALL knives are legal here except autos, gravity, push daggers and balisongs.

Sorry to go OT, but it's annoying.

And it doesn't really apply in this instance though it did help to get the auction removed...twice.
My main concern here was the woman advertising an obvious fake as "screen used". While the learned Buffy enthusiast could have spotted the ruse, the less suspecting may have thought they'd found a deal.
Then the lady goes and re-list's it without the photo and without the info...which is still incredibly shady.
I here ya, your pissed about misconceptions leading to limited sale's of knives and such in your country. Sounds like you need to work on getting E-bay's restrictions in the UK lifted...
Although, I gotta tell you, it was a friend in Scotland who gave me the heads up on these auctions and she seems to think those restrictions are in place with good reason, so it may simply be a matter of differing opinions...?
I was just happy to be able to help out a friend.
