FABRICATING a real IRONMAN suit out of STEEL.

if i had a welder at home this would be the route i would take.... but my boss won't let me build my suit at work... so i'm stuck with fiberglass.... and watching your thread in envy

I think that is great! I am anxious into reading your updates. I, as well, have been spending this last year on a lot of research on going far and beyond at building an armor too that exceeds many other designs as well. I mean, there are many great iron man armor makes out there which have helped me with ideas. But I just wanted a good challenge that would take me to costume extreme, with no flying and artillery of course lol! The man of steel costume has put me on hold from iron man but will continue.

The helmet is looking really good. From Pep to steel it is a great transition. I wish I could have read more of your post, but all the back and forth and long winded statements by yourself and other members made my head hurt. The pictures of your finished/welded pieces are great. Could you include more of the in-between shots? Such as a few tacks to hold in place / started hammering this or that piece? Alot of us use the forum to get ideas and tips on different materials/tactics that we are not familiar with. Dont think that just because it isnt a finished piece that its not worthy of taking pics. Hell flood your post with them, then we can set our slideshow on insane and watch a mini movie of your build.

This is going to look crazy when its finished! There's so much talent on this site it's unbelievable. Keep up the good work man.

Well, it's steel for heaven sake and not foam/pep/resin/cardboard:facepalm And the cost of the material has to be factored in...real life getting in the way, you know: realities:rolleyes
Patience young Padawans! I'm sure he's gonna chime in when he'll have something to show.

I agree completely. I choose to believe and wait. Hopefully i will be amazed, and if i'm not i've lost nothing...GM

sounds like y'all have lost faith In me lol. Yes it's been a while since I've posted anything new, which is because I've been caught up with tons of other stuff going on with my business and family. Don't give up just yet, I just dusted off the helmet that's been patiently waiting to be worked on again. Bare with me folks, I'll be making some more sparks fly again soon!

See, I told you so people;) Looking forward to more updates of course, but as you said: priorities first and then hobby second:)

We believe in you. Take your time. Finally you don't have a JARVIS AI to help you manufacturing :)

Alright boys and girls! Finally had a few hours last night to get some work done! It's not much to show at the moment because the snow out here is screwing with my picture uploading, but I did get the top of the "cowl" or whatever the heck it's called put together, as well as the back portions of the helmet (which I will post pictures when service is better).

Over all it's coming along again and im pretty pumped that it's staring to look like something; and that much closer to welding and smoothing all the seems. Tell me what y'all think!
