Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - COMPLETE - PIC HEAVY - Completed Pics on Page 2

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

Your leather work is stunning. That is all.

Thanks for posting so many pictures and describing the process.

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

Thanks, man. :)

I'll have photos of the "finished" suit hopefully by tomorrow :D

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

Ah, right, I forgot. I have some pictures of the finished belt pouches:

When I had finished everything I rubbed them down with seal's fat:
(Also the table suffered an injury, in the form of a rather unsightly leather dye stain xD)

Seal's fat gives the leather a nice sheen, but also protects and waterproofs it. Very easy to apply, (smells, quite surprisingly, very nice), and looks good, too. Keep in mind that it darkens the color of the leather a tone. Not a big deal, looked better post-fat in my opinion.

Here are a couple more shots of the pouches pre-awl/stitching/trimming:

In the last photo you guys can see how I did the buckles. I basically cut out a small tab and punched a hole right below it, where I inserted the piece of leather looped over the buckle. Then, on the flap, I did the same thing, but this time the little piece of leather was riveted upside-down so that it could be folded over and buckled, hiding the upper rivet.

To loop over the belt I riveted a piece of leather to the back piece and folded it over, then riveted a snap at the bottom. Technically it would make more sense, or be more period-accurate, anyway, to put a belt-loop or some eyelets and tie it or something, but for ease snaps work just as well, if not better:

Finally a few more photos of the stitching process:
(First photo shows all three pouches together, the nearer two still incomplete.)

And, finally, a picture of one of the finished pouches:

Okay, that's all the updates I have for now, as I said above most likely I'll post pictures of the finished suit tomorrow! :D

EDIT: That was a lie, the last picture shows the finished pouch before the strap that goes into the buckle.

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

This is some awesome work so far. You can see the time and effort that's been put into each individual piece.

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

Thanks man. :) Yeah, the whole suit's probably at around 300 hours of work now.

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

This is looking awesome. I'm supremely jealous of your leather skills!

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

Thanks man! I still have much to learn, though! This was my first time working with leather.

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

This is your first time working with leather?!? DANG.

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

xD Yeah, I still have much to learn.

Anyway, completed pictures will be up by this afternoon, I promise! :D

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

Wow. Just wow. And thanks for documenting your process! These kind of build threads are just all kinds of awesome.

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

Thank you very much! Yeah, I tried as much as I could to take pictures of what I did, but there are many times I forgot, and so there are gaps.

Never fear, though, much more is on the way! (I'll explain once I upload the final pictures).

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - Costume - WIP - (PIC HEAVY)

Okay guys, the time has come!

We took these by a church close to our home. Let me know what you think!

I entered this in a competition, at the only Greek comic-con there is:

https://www.facebook.com/Comicdom

This was the competition:

https://www.facebook.com/events/190034911186970/

I ended up winning. :D

So, if all goes well, in late October I'll be representing Greece in the pan-European contest, the EuroCosplay contest, at the MCM Expo in London.

Because the British are really keen on details, I'll have to be remaking a lot of my suit, in particular all the fabric bits. Which means that you guys can expect many progress pictures of that in the future, once I gather enough money to start working on it.

In the meantime, here are some pics from the photoshoot. I'll post more on my page at some point (www.facebook.com/thanatosindustries)

BEAUTIFUL. By far the best assassin's creed costume I have ever seen, and I mean it. WELL DONE.
Wow. I want one, haha.

Thank you very much, Pegboard! :D

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - COMPLETE - PIC HEAVY - Completed Pics on Page

Ive been following this thread for a while, ad I must say. Now its finshed its bloody amazing. I have not seen a better AC suit build!!!!!

The only thing I would say is, are you planning on making/purchasing a more assassin-y sword? as the samurai katana style sword is the only thing that seems misplaced.

Other than that. ABSOULTY FANTASTIC (Top Marks!)

Re: Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Ebony) - COMPLETE - PIC HEAVY - Completed Pics on Page

Thanks! :D

Yeah, Kryro I'm planning on making a sword more suited to Ezio's character. For the time being though, I'm using my katana because first, it's all I have, and second, I think it's completely awesome. xD

That came out absolutely great. I can't get over how well the leather pieces came out.
