Exclusive: Golden Gun

My LE arrived last week.

Very nice piece.

Or pieces, however you look at it.

The trick is getting it into the house and setting it up like it's already been around for a while and the wife just never noticed it.

Received my LE GG yesterday. I'm very happy with this prop replica. I don't believe anyones mentioned what a nice job the whole package is, not only the GG but display case, packaging and paper work are all great.

Looking forward to more Bond props from FE.

I recieved my Gun on Monday And I am returning it today. I contacted Tom Vargas and have asked for a complete refund. my gun is #385 , I unpacked it put it together and I noticed that there is an off set angle on the lighter (reciever) when cliped into the handle (cig case) , comparing it to pictures of the real gun and SD golden gun (which you can find many on the internet) you will notice it should be flush and provide the 45 degree angle. the factory Replica prop does not. it is off set and gives the gun a strange slant look. Factory replica has made a point to conceal this on all the marketing pictures by taking angle shots only. there should be no slanting of the grip! very dissapointed . hate the light weight as well, seems to be aluminum made. would have been great in heavier metal, many slight imperfections, the lighter cover is also very loose with no magnetic closure which may be of a problem later on. I was really looking forward to this but have been very let down. I can't believe no one here on this site has noticed the slant? :confused

Notice the slant. Looks like you jumped the GUN.

Found another, this one is the SD Studios version. I have marked a rectangle that follows the line of the lid and then a thin black line to show that the angle is in fact NOT 90 degrees.

Sorry dude, you are wrong. Here is a screencap and the real GG at EON. Both have the slanted grip. This is not a copy of the SD GG, it is a copy of the real GG.

if you go to these sites you will see what i am saying, I don't mean to offend anyone, im saying there is a flaw.

James Bond’s classic golden gun replica up for auction « Randommization

and here is a picture of the factory replica:

the moment I put the lighter (reciver) onto the cig case (handle) and clicked it into place I noticed it did not lie flat across (it angled up) I thought I did something wrong, so I looked it over with a couple of friends, and we realized this is the way factory replicas made it.
for me it was unacceptble. like I said if anyone wants it, its on its way back to Tom vargas #385...you can doubt it all you want, watch the movie and decied for yourself. I did not take pictures, I repacked and shipped it today. but I can clearly see from the youtube video that Factory replicas put out, they try to angle and hide the flaw by hand placement. if you have the gun already , you will know what I am talking about

So what you want is an SD studios GG and not a James Bond GG. Why do you guys keep thinking the SD studios gun is the be all end all referance. It's handle is wrong. I show you a pic of the gun in the movie and the actual prop in the archives and you show me pics of a flawed replica? WOW!!! Let me make it clear for you , the SD studios GG is WRONG. Stop using it as reference.

Zombie Killer maybe you are right, I do see your pictures show the up angle. I was comparing to SD but also in the movie when Scaramanga is putting it together, I guess there are different versions, but this one is not for me. when I held it in my hands it did not feel right at all.

You know what I find amusing about all the griping I see about one replica or another?.......if they made the replica EXACTLY like the one in the movie someone would still complain it doesn't look right, it looks cheap, cheaply made or some other complaint. Honestly if you've ever seen most real screen props up-close most of the time they usually aren't as nice or made as well as the replicas are because they are made only to look good on-screen for the few seconds they are seen on the film that they are being used for and that's all. I know there's some really blatant inaccurate replicas but I don't feel this is one of them. it doesn't feel right in your hand?...are you planning on carrying it around to use it? Its a display piece ....to LOOK AT....who cares what it feels like!

Is anyone else having a problem with the cigarette case lid? On my replica the hinge is broken and the lid will fall off the case when opened. I've already sent an email to FE. Just curious if my order is an anomoly or something others are experiencing.
