Not sure if you're still interested, but the challenge stuck with me.

So far, in the few images I have found, it seems vaguely a 'stretched octagon' with possible square structures on the top.

For some reason, Trek stuck in my mind, at first some ship, but recently found-by-me images of TNG Type 1 phaser seems a possibility as the toy had an internal light.

Prolly a TV remote, but I have become made a bit obsessed...
