Eureka Season 4 - Not very Good!

Re: Eureka Season 4 - IT SUCKS

Eureka's a 13 episode show, so I don't think there'll be a mid-season. I don't expect the alternate timeline to continue into next season, though.

Re: Eureka Season 4 - IT SUCKS

Wow. Your dad's only 40...how old are you again? :) Anyway, it was a sledge - you said something that seemed bizarrely weird, so I was teasing you. Lightheartedly, I hasten to add.

Seriously though, I just didn't get how you could list two of the best shows on any network as a negative...especially when, you know, sci fi shows and Sci Fi Channel...

...oh never mind. Your dad is younger than me, we're not going to speak each other's language. I'll just go watch some wrestling or something. :p
Ummmm, what's a sledge? :confused

And they are only the best shows because their is nothing worth comparing them too:), I'm gonna stick with the original BSG, as the newer on was just a lame reason to not have to spend the money to make Cylons. :thumbsdown

and Eurika needs an overhaul and needs an interesting plot, it's a Naruto, they have a general idea of where they are going, but 90% of the show can be jumbled up into random parts and you wouldn't know it, it doesn't need or have a time line really.

We saw henry's 'alternate univ wife' in episode 1 this year before they went back in time. He says later he was even going to ask her out before they jumped. So that character can be in either timeline.

They keep running ads saying people just love the new guy they added to the cast, but i've not seen anything like he's signed a multiyear deal or anything. Maybe he has, I don't know.

I do agree with the point about the negative side of time travel. Everyone seems to have gotten good and bad - except Jo, who seems to be just completely screwed over, but she did get a better job...I like they're exploring it.

The only real issue I have is that they're putting a single plot through the whole season which is something they've never done before.

Hey you are not alone. I never cared for the new BSG and totally hated Starbuck ( reminded me of too many blond and nutty ex-girlfriends:wacko ).

Eureka I like as a silly little show that amuses me from time to time. I did like the idea of someone finally doing a time travel show and not having a reset happen in the final 5 minutes (Yes ST Voyager I am looking at you). I might not like everything scriptwise that is going on but I'm happy for the change.

Re: Eureka Season 4 - IT SUCKS

Putting in a bump.

I was wondering if anyone has heard any news about the upcoming episodes of Eureka? Have they said when the new episodes will air?

I was surfing a Eureka fan site where they say that the 4th season is almost turning into a soap opera. After rewatching these episodes, I have to agree.

Examples:

- 5 minutes after declaring there love for each other, Jack and Allison hop in the sack
- Continuing to bring back Beverly Barlow, get rid of her already.
- Allison's gone from dressing like a proffessional to being outfitted in short skirts, black stockings, high high-heels, low cut skin-tight blouses and shirts, and alot more makeup.
- Zoe appears to be colder and slightly sleazier.

One big thing that really bothers me is: In the episode "Once in a lifetime" they stated that an alternate timeline would cause a paradox which could destroy both timelines. In season 4, it seems like they've decided to ignore this entirely:angry.

I just keep hoping that they will put everything back to the way it was, and soon.

I miss my old Eureka:cry:cry.

Re: Eureka Season 4 - IT SUCKS

Found this post over at the TV.com Eureka forum, and I think it comes very close to accurately describing season 4.

Re: Eureka Season 4 - IT SUCKS

I thought I wasent going to like season 4 either but ended up enjoying it, it is very different and takes some getting used to, I was actually on set when they were shooting they were shooting season 5, cant wait for it to air, looks alot better!

Re: Eureka Season 4 - IT SUCKS

Season 4 ended what? 7 months ago? Season 5 should be firing up in 4 months or less. Not much point in dumping on season 4 now is there?

Didn't they split season 4 into two parts? with the second half coming this summer?

But I like dumping:rolleyes:) (wait, that doesn't sound right), If I can't gripe about something, I'll have to give up my "grumpy old man society" membership card.:lol

Re: Eureka Season 4 - IT SUCKS

Nope.

Eureka is a once a year, deal. This summer is S5. They wrapped up the main plot lines at the end of the season.

WTF? They wrapped it up? Worst wrap up evar. 9 Episodes and a lame Xmas special?? Give me a break...

I agree entirely about Season 4 - Eureka was something that I was very excited about, and I'm blown away at how HORRIBLE season 4 is.

I hope they redeem themselves this summer.

On a side note - I love the Warehouse 13 crossovers. When Jo & Zane were in Warehouse 13 ("Duped" 2009) and when Claudia went to GD and got her mack on with Fargo... lol.

I lost all love for Eureka. The last episode I saw was s04e05. And I dont feel like watching anymore because this new timeline is crap. It pisses me off that they did this and thought it would make the serie better. I dont think I'm even going to keep follow this serie anymore. The whole town of Eureka that they built the serie on is just destroyed. None of what happened in the eariler episodes actually happened now. So new fans can just jump in to season 4 and then they will probably like it.

But to all seriousness, if you know who did this. Please kill that person and burn the body. IM SERIOUS!!!

Who said nothing from the early seasons happened? Just because it's an alternate timeline doesn't mean that stuff didn't happen. Bringing back Beverly might be a sign that they'll bring back some plot points from the first season, you never know.

Frankly, I'm glad they cancelled it. Ever since they switched to the "alternate timeline", the show has steadily gone downhill in my opinion. They took away nearly everything that made Eureka so enjoyable to watch. There was a panel recently (I believe it was at Comic Con), where the creators said they would "never" go back to the original timeline, which made me all the more happier when the cancellation was announced.

The had a great show......until they decided to "reimagine, reinvent, go in a new direction," whatever they call it, they gambled, and they lost.

Okay, rant over.:lol:lol

Probably for the best indeed due to them messing up the timeline.

Syfy has done it again.
The cable outlet changed its mind on a final season for Eureka yesterday and has canceled the show.
The fifth season is currently in production and will wrap soon. It is scheduled to air next year. Syfy initially signed on for a six episode sixth season to bring the series to a close, but reversed that decision yesterday.
“After painstaking consideration, we have had to make the difficult business decision to not order a season six of Eureka. But Eureka is not over yet. There is a new holiday episode this December and 12 stellar episodes set to debut next year, marking its fifth season and six memorable years on Syfy. The 2012 episodes are some of the best we’ve seen, and will bring this great series to a satisfying end. We are very grateful to Bruce Miller and Jaime Paglia, their team of incredible writers, and an amazing cast and crew who have consistently delivered a series we continue to be very proud of. We thank the fans for their support of this show and know they will enjoy its final season in 2012,” Syfy said in a statement.
As of this report, there are no details on how and why the series was given the pink slip. Alpha Airlock reports series producer Jamie Paglia was surprised about the shortened order, and was told that those final episodes were meant to give him the latitude to wrap the series. Whether Paglia resisted a wrap-up in such a way is not clear.
More details as they’re available. And you can bet we’ll be discussing this on week’s Slice of SciFi.
