I also just bought the kit from Merlin, I'm looking for the reference colors in the archive x?
They did print a booklet with the first batch of kits. That seems to be it. They also provide it as a download, which they provided the link for in their discord forumDoes anyone know anything about this reference book showing pictures of the filming model for the esb at-st. It is shown here on the work bench from this recent Tested build of the Merlin models kit. I assume the book comes with the kit. Scott
They have also been AI smoothed, by the looks of it.Thanks I checked out the build instruction manual from the Merlin sight and saw that in the back there are a couple pictures of the filming model. I was thinking the booklet they were looking at was a all about references photos.
The model is based on best-faith efforts of the studio scale community, and as a result some misidentified parts and errors have been faithfully reproduced. I have been working hard but not nearly as hard as my collaborator Hiroshi on bringing a correct AT-ST to life, and we plan to have Mike Reader make correct armatures. There's actually two versions - the ESB as built, and the ESB as modified for Go-Motion testing by Tom St. Amand. I'll start a new thread on this soon, and hopefully it will be the last time I scratch build one of these things LOL!In looking at the manual I came across this circled part that goes on the right side of the body. From watching a build video the part is a panzer iv return roller and a fire extinguisher from the 223 kit. I have the photos available in the Chronicles book and can't find a photo that shows this part. My question is did Merlin take some artistic license or did they have access to photos that are not in general circulation. This can also be applied to areas like the underside of the head and the engine deck. Thanks
Thanks Jason. AI smoothed, that's interesting. You can go to the Merlin Models web site and download the instructions and at the end are a couple of photos.Could someone share the unaltered original image showing the side with the "OFF CAMERA" words? It's hard to look at those AI-upscaled images.
Thanks
Yes, in fact that’s the only photo I’ve seen, but it’s clearly AI-processed and I was curious to see the original. You can go to the Merlin Models web site and download the instructions and at the end are a couple of photos.
