Equinox- Taurus stop motion replica

Here’s a recent replica I fabricated from the 1970 release, Equinox. The motivation behind recreating this model was that after seeing the film in its initial release here in Los Angeles in 1971, I found out that the film had been shot in the area I grew up in and shortly after, I became friends with the films creators. Dave Allen kindly invited myself and a few friends over to his studio around 1978 and to my surprise, he gave me the miniature book used in Equinox (on a side-note, Dave had been working on The Primevals at that period and in 1994, I’d find myself in Romania as the films location makeup effects supervisor). Ever since, I’ve looked for a proper way to display that prop and the only way was to recreate Taurus. There is a ball-and-socket armature under the foam latex skin and he has all of the “bells and whistles” that the original had (though I didn’t recreate that inventive forearm structure Dave came up with). I am considering making extra copies (with wire armatures or static) if there is any interest.

Nicely done! That's will be an amazing display with the original book prop. This is a movie I haven't watched in many years. I'll dig the DVD out and watch it tonight.
