I would gladly pay a few extra bucks for fullers on the scabbard. I wonder why the decision was made to leave them out in the first place... difficulty and price? Being this close to production and shipping, I doubt this is even a possibility at this late stage but I'd be ok with a delay in order to get a 'deluxe' version of the scabbard.
