Enterprise Refit -signup.tomy.com

I ordered one way back. Just not sure what the obsession is with where the numbers are at as of today as the goal was reached weeks ago .

It's fun to see where it goes. :D

5920 btw...
Yes it’s interesting to see the demand! It’s a foregone conclusion that there will be another ship after this one, but I’m sure TOMY leadership will see the potential of the line as a whole, and hopefully that’ll incentivize them too keep many more releases coming :)

I'm a catastrophic thinker by nature, so I had the opposite thought-- the success of this one will be such a blow-out it will raise expectations to the point that, other than the enterprise D, it'll make the numbers/ profit margin for more esoteric ships (bad guys, excelsior/B, reliant) look paltry in comparison, and the line could find itself jeopardy. there's just no way a K'T'inga is gonna get 5000 pledges. sorry worf.

You’re exactly right! I was thinking that too. Hopefully they’ll see the big picture and realize that not every ship will be in high demand. The good thing is that it’s kickstarter, so they’ll know the demand before they produce.

I’m sure their increased ad presence helped, but ads cost money

oh great just validate my doomsday visions!

i just hope the big tomy muckity-mucks don't get too spoilt by these (and the D's) numbers and then make life hell for the ST crew once they inevitably dip. kind of like marvel execs.

"Avengers made money. Just do that exact same thing again!"

"um...but it kinda doesn't work like that? The IP is finite, and not a goose that lays a new golden egg every Tuesday or a self-replicating algae?"

I bet a fully lit TOS d7 could get at least 3k it's a great looking ship. Plus they would not expect 5k. Resellers also want these since the TOS ENT explosion on eBay.

Haha! Yup analytics don’t tell the whole story on these things. Hopefully they’ve accounted for this in their projections. As much as I would love to see a reliant, k’tinga or excelsior, their projections should hopefully take into account lower demand.

In the case of ships that are significantly smaller in scale (like Klingon, Romulan, reliant) that would at least allow them to be sold at much lower price points, which would drive pledging higher i'm sure. Or perhaps in two-packs, which would also spike interest. (didn't the tomy designer fella mention two-packs were on the hypothetical table? did i dream that?)

Haha. Two pairs of 1/350 diecast ships ..that would be a first.

5944. I see 6k before the end of the day ... :p

If I bought a 2 pack, I’d be served 2 copies of divorce papers
Well technically the idea is that a Klingon cruiser or a romulan bird of prey are half the mass of the Enterprise or less, so a two pack would still cost the same as an Enterprise. So hopefully still just a single set of divorce papers. Let's not kill any more trees than we have to.
