This is my build of the 1:1400 Enterprise-C

I'm also waiting for a response from my lightsheet supplier.

first things first,

I'll be stripping off the white, as there are way too many imperfections in the coat as well as too much buildup, many details have been washed out.

Cool! Now I just need to find out 2 things. First is if I can find a UK supplier (will google that in a bit), and second is if the re-isssue will have the extra pieces to make the Zhukov/refit version (my all-time favourite starship). I already know there are sites that will do custom decals, so that's cool.

Well the 1400 scale release of the D came cast in clear with azteking decals, so they must include SOMETHING cool for the C. What's the difference between the Zhukov and the C? Is it anything like the Excalibur where the warp nacell pylons were angled?

The main difference is that the Zhukov/Yamaguchi variant got an extra shuttlebay under the rear one (most likely from an Excelsior, see here: Ex Astris Scientia - Ambassador Class Variants). I always preferred the way that made the hull curve. Plus with 3 shuttlebays, added phaser strips, etc I would have loved to see this ship used much more, epecially as they were still dragging out Reliants and Excelsiors well into the dominion war. Heck, the Ambassador class was considered good enough to use at Wolf 359!

I actually remember a while ago there was supposed to be a japanese company reissuing the E and the C with better decals, when I heard that I decided I was going to get them as soon as they came out. After hearing nothing of it for a while round2 started selling the E. Not sure if the two are connected or if it was a coincidence. However, I can't see them NOT reissuing it where the molds were barely used.

The SimpleGreen is working like a charm.... The paint is melting off giving back valuable panel and window depth.

I'll show pictures first thing tomorrow after it gets a scrubdown.

I like the design of the C but I couldn't stand the studio model's pastel blue paint job. When I built my clear Yamaguchi kit as the Excalibur I oversprayed with transparent silver-blue metallic to blend and tone down the pastel colors. I prefer the metallic look I got.
