Enterprise B

This is my build of the 1/1000 scale Enterprise B kit issued by AMT/ERTL in 1995.

The model is pretty much OOB aside from adding some details to the cutout under the secondary hull and scratching a more accurate stern photon torpedo launcher. I also had to scratch a deflector dish using a round piece off the clear parts sprue tree as the dish included in the kit was from the Excelsior kit and was too large in diameter.
All aztecing, if you can call it that as the pattern is random, was underpainted using a brush.
I referred to the studio pics of the Lakota posted on SSM extensively during construction.
This build took over 6 months to complete.

Wow that's a fine looking ship you've got there.

Tell us more about the aztecing. What do you mean my underpainted? Whatever it is it really works.

Thanks Nighteyes.

The underpainting was done by applying a basecoat of classic white then going back in with a brush to add dark grey, medium gray, and turquoise panels over the entire surface. This took the longest time to do. Then another layer of the basecoat was airbrushed on to mute and blend the overall look.

Thanks Szyntax, Aquaman, and Jm419.

MooCriket, I would guess you are referring to the damage caused by the Nexus ribbon in the Generations movie ? There was also the DS9 episode "Paradise Lost" where the ship was severely dameged during a battle with the U.S.S. Defiant but that was in it's Lakota incarnation.

Here's the last of the pics:

That is some good eye popping work that you have there. Now all you need is a tall wooden stand with a glass box on it with some good lighting and you will then have it in a suitable display.

You did all the aztecing with a ....BRUSH ?! WOW!!! My hat is off to you sir. She looks better than any ship I've seen using decals for aztecing. I wish I had your skill.
