I know, food and sleep and especially taking care of those pesky bills keeps getting in my way of making decent progress! I had to get a few things I needed camera wise as well as stuff for the set up but I've pretty much gotten everything I needed to proceed. What with doing a couple of Cyclops puppets for clients, I should be able to actually start clicking off some frames by week after next. The first shot I have set up to do, with the Wampa taking down the Taun, will be about a 4 to 5 second shot.

Funny you should bump today, I just finished the last of the grip work and locking down the camera and getting the last of the puppet touch-ups done.....FINALLY!! The camera is now hooked up to my computer and tested the Dragon program (stop=mo program) and I'm now ready to begin clicking frames...... I can't believe it!!!! I'll begin clicking away either tomorrow or monday

Well, after 2 full days and nights of solid animating in my garage (oven) I'm finally able to take a small break to let you know that I'm about 3/4ths the way through the shot....... WHEW!!! I've had to scrape 18 years of rust off of my animation skills (man am I rusty!!), plus I've never animated 2 puppets at the same time let alone the fact that they are both covered in fur (as my excuses keep piling up...... LOL!!). I have to say though, I have NEVER had more fun doing ANYTHING in my life!!!! I'm gonna wrap this shot up today (I have to because I only had a 3 day window to get this shot done) and then I'll figure out how to get a rough cut together so I can post it and share it with you guys, I'd rather wait until I get the shot completely finished with background and sound put in but somehow I don't think you guys would want to wait til then...... maybe?? Anyway, here's a little teaser pic from about halfway through the shot........ more to follow very soon!

Thanks Guy, I've never posted any video source before, anyway this is a little low res teaser of the rough element. The reason it's so dark is because the only low res footage I have available to share at the mo is via the video tap. The video tap images are dark because I had to shoot this at a low ISO since I'm only using overhead flourescents to light it, the high res "hero" frames to be used for the final composite will look normal.
Anyway, this clip of animation is only 3/4ths the way done, I still have about another second or so of the Wampa finishing his move. This is a FAR CRY from Phil Tippett but I've never had more fun in my life!!!!!!!! I've got a friend working on the final composite of this shot and hopefully it'll be done soon, but for now this teaser will give you an idea of where it's going. After this shot is done then I'll be moving on to the running shot........
