EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Additional Animation Footage

Your work looks great! A true lost art. Just curious, why did you make his legs so short? The wampa was very tall.

It's not that his legs are short, but that his torso and arms are very long..... he's built like an ape rather than a human. Scaled with the Tauntaun puppet, standing toe to toe he looks the Taun right square in the eyes...... they're approx the same height at head level.

Here's a size comparison of the 2 puppets, got the hands painted and furred on the Wampa but still have some tweaking to do to both puppets to get em ready for action...... not much longer though. Next update will be of them set up for animation!

Toying with exposure settings and framing, this is getting pretty close, will probably put a bounce card below somewhere to get a tad more light on the inside of his right leg. Will be testing Wampa placement next

this has to be one of the coolest things I've ever seen on this site. And that's saying a LOT considering what some of the members here are capable of!!

Ok, getting the Wampa puppet set up and doing some wedge tests, I think I'm going with this exposure setting.... contrasts and brightness can always be adjusted later, I still have some fur touch ups to do on both puppets but very minor and I can do it with them set up right here.

This is absolutely amazing work! Ray Harryhausen is by far my favorite film effects artist and your Cyclops is spot on. Thank you so much for posting. Oh, that was a great article in the North County Times by the way.
