Suggestion Embedding videos?

Every forum out there has a youtube button for embedding videos, I think its about time the rpf did as well.
It is already available from vbulletin as an admin addon.

As with so many requests, I couldn't agree more and it is on the list once we get vB 4.

We have had a LOT of "bumps" in the road, but we are back on track for implementing vB 4 which will give us this ability as well as a number of others!

wont this just create problems? How hard is it just to open up another window to watch the video.

I am sure there are ton of rpfers that view this board at work...what if the video was nsfw put it was posted randomly in a thread...and some-one walks by and sees the inappropriate video in the thread...

Also, I can already see the signatures with 700 youtube videos all playing simultaneously...

Trying to add a video to my post

I used my digital camera to record my Talky Tina project moving for about 45 seconds. When I uploaded it to my computer, it automatically used Windows Media player to open it. I tried putting the video on Photobucket, where it plays just fine, but only shows as a picture when I use the URL in the thread. I also want to flip the video so that it doesn't play sideways, and haven't been able to do that. I tried using the attachments option and uploading has failed every time. Any ideas on how I can do this?

Videos cannot be embedded in posts. You can post a link to the video that will play when members click on it (like your photobucket link).

Oh, ok. I thought that when you uploaded a video, it would be embedded. I was afraid it was too big a file, so I cut it down to about 15 seconds.

Please do not allow the embedded videos to autostart.

Animated GIFs already play hell with page load speeds already.

Nothing has changed from what Art posted earlier in this thread. We will be implementing this when we move to vB 4.
