So I'm fairly new to the RPF, kinda been browsing the site for the last couple of months and finally decided to join. I haven't been able to buck down and get myself to actually fully complete a project, but this is the one that I truly plan on finishing.

Now with the new movie coming out, lots of people having been hammering the First Order Stormtrooper thing. I've really wanted to make a set of armor, but I felt like it had just been done so many times by now. Then I found a rather interesting design, called a Elite First Order Stormtrooper. It doesn't really vary much from the norm, except for a unique
paint job that I really like.
So I started off with some EVA foam (my favorite material), and started working on the chest and back. Luckily for me, my school recently acquired a decent sized laser cutter, so I've been trying it out with the foam. It works fairly well, and has really helped speed things along. But when I finally had assembled, sealed, and painted the chest....Well there was a problem. Everything was rough looking and there were lumps and bumps everywhere
.
I wasn't really sure where to go from there, but I remembered that people used Bondo on pepakuras and other projects to help smooth and fill things out. Being that I didn't really care about losing the flexibility of the foam itself, I went and picked up some bondo, and went to work. Let me tell you, that stuff does wonders. After some layers, and a decent bit of sanding, it looked way better than before. I guess I'm happy with how the way things are starting, plan on finishing the back pieces soon, and will post pictures once they are done.

(Sorry, for some reason, all the pictures turned sideways :/)
