EFX Skywalker Reveal Lightsaber - Real Crystal Core -

Hello. As mentioned in some previous topics some of u know how badly I wanted to do this. I was very nervous to do it but today was the day to fulfill my thoughts.
I dremeled the plastic stone out of the crystal chamber:

Previously I've done the crystal core separately and added some electronics I wanted to have in there. Of course I had to find and order a real gem stone. I used a Danburit from Pakistan which is very rare in that shape with double ends (It's a very expensive stone in my opinion but well worth as the light will shine through it):

And finally the completed Crystal Core:

The lights are all intact and shines now more bright and wonderful through a real rare crystal:

I hope you like my little project.

Thank you very much. :)
I liked the saber before, but now I'm very pleased with it:thumbsup

that's an awesome stone! could you give any details on the type and where to get a similar one? I would like a good green crystal for a custom saber i am working on, thanks! Sweet custom internals by the way :)

Thanks for all the nice replys.
I made a mistake above. It's not a Danburit. It's a Peridot from Pakistan. Just type in in auctionsites like ebay. It is a real mineral and gem stone.:thumbsup

Hey Andy,

That looks amazing ... I have a reveal eFX currently on route to me, via thegreatgalling and looking forward to the quality of it.

Wow that is great! I would have been nervous as hell drilling out that crystal but the results were well worth it! Nice job

Hey Chaim, I'm very pleased with the efx version. Except for the plastic crystal it is an awesome hilt which came with lots of extras (stand, plaque, brochure, artwork, etc....).

Manooga thank you bro. :) I like it so much I have to look at it a few times a day :-D

cld213 thank you. The drilling was a torture. I thought it was only held down in place with one spot, But than I had to find out very CAREFULLY the 2nd spot. That was hell to me. But all went fine and I'm very glad with the result. Even the crystal is now removeable so I can exchange it whenever I want. :thumbsup

UPDATE for a customer of me:
Here's the setup with a clear rock crystal (berg crystal) in it, let me know what u guys think:)

In the saber, with and without flash:

and in action:

That looks awesome man! I haven't tried it yet but I've heard using a clear quartz crystal and painting it with a translucent paint like an anodize paint works to get a convincing colored crystal. I'm not sure how well it looks though.

THANK YOUUUUU guys. Made my day :-D
I really recommend using real crystals. There are a few types which are already green and transculescent.:thumbsup

Andy, my hat is off to you. The crystal that came with the Efx reveal was always a issue for me. Yours looks amazing, wish I had the nerves to try to convert mine. :)

Thanks a lot Sith:thumbsup
I'm almost really happy to know that there is a way to remove that awful plastic ;)

Not really into sabers, but that looks great. Actually using a real crystal really makes the saber!
