EFX reveals BOBA FETT LEGEND, STORMTROOPER LEGEND, STORMTROOPER ARMOR!!!!

Thanks for the info, Gino. Probably too early to speculate, but I assume the ABS armor and helmet will be attached to the display mannequin in such a way that prevents someone from disassembling it? Of course, I'd certainly prefer that the helmet and armor be wearable, just like the screen-used originals - even though I'm certainly too tall for it. However, doing so would open the gates for some pretty unscrupulous goings-on, I'm afraid. In any event, would love to be able to display a Stormie down on a knee and taking aim, as well as standing with sidearm at parade attention. Looking forward to watching this in development.

Allan

Over al rebelscum they heard from Bryan himself that for the $2k price tag it will not come with a mannequin

Can anyone put my fears to bed and confirm the scout will still be happening? I've recently sold my mint condition Altmann to pay for it!!
Was really hoping we might of seen a TIE pilot helmet in the future. I suppose that's not going to happen now?

I thought there was a post earlier in the thread that indicated it was still on.

This is definitely still happening.

Not necessarily. There are a lot of private collector's out there. The stormtrooper armor came from a private collector, not LFL... so, who knows. Some day a collector with a TIE might make it available... or, even though the chance seems small now, the archives may be made available to licensees again.

Here's where Art mentioned the Scout helmet:

Just want to quell some fears here, but at the same time, I can't talk about some of these aspects in detail. However, the archives belonged to George Lucas, personally and did not go to Disney with the sale of Lucasfilm. However, George has now turned them over to be managed by a third party and the archives are now on a very hard lockdown due to legal mumbo-jumbo.

Will it always stay that way? I certainly can't say. However, when Lucas owned Lucasfilm, there was a vested interest in using the archives to help licensees make great products like the Fett helmet because at the end of the day, it means more money for the licensee and ultimately more money for Lucas. Now that the direct tie between Lucasfilm and the archives has been severed, there is no strong motivating reason for the archives to work with what is essentially Disney licensees. Given the recent change in attitude, by the archives, toward licensees, it does not bode well for the future of having the kind of access that brought you the Vader, and will soon bring you the scout and Fett...

I really hope they make a proper sized mannequin that the armor fits on perfectly as an option or I will probably be out on purchasing one. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way either.

It is rediculous to sell the armor with no option other than EVERYTHING including helmet, undersuit, neckseal, manaquin and blaster...

Sell the manaquin seperate. Or make a package deal with everything...

But the armor NEEDS to have the option to buy JUST THE ARMOR. Sans helmet, manaquin etc.

Most people who would buy this ALREADY have a helmet or 5... (like me)

It should IMHO be sold seperately for costumers wanting better armor (like me) AND available as an all in one display...

How doesn't that make sense?

It doesn't make sense (legally) because eFX doesn't hold the Star Wars costuming license, so they can't sell it or market it as a costume. It is all red tape, but the fact that LFL allowed them to bring it to market at all is a miracle... but they allowed it WITH stipulations.

Art, can you shed any light on the comment that was made over at Rebelscum about this not coming with the mannequin for $2k? Does that mean you'll still be able to get it with a mannequin from them just at an additional cost?

I understand that, and just watched the Bryan Ono video from SDCC...

BUT... the manaquin at least should be available... but sold seperately.

I really wish they could sell just the hard parts of armor. It's still not "sold in sizes" soo... technically still just prop replicas... right? LOL.

That's how Bryan made it sound...

I really want the armor... I guess we'll see what ends up happening!

I can't. I know they were initially planning to include one, but the final decisions will be theirs to determine.

We are definitely in the same boat on wanting the armor!

Thanks for responding, Art. I really hope they make the determination that a proper sized mannequin that would fit the armor perfectly for display is something that a lot of collectors would want. ;)

Hey guys, just got back and am still getting settled in from SDCC.
I've wanted to post while at the show but internet access was not cooperating.

If you guys want to start a Q & A, I can field the questions to the best of my knowledge.

Ok....go!

.

Is it possible that the armor may be sold without the helmet... or at the very least without the manaquin?

I think it IS AWESOME that a full on statue that is poseable and also wearable is going to be available!

But I personally would love to be able to purchase JUST the hard parts of the armor without the helmet.

1. I know these are being billed as a prop, but it CAN be worn, provided you fit, correct?

2. Will it have all the screen accurate strapping?

3. When will the pre-orders open up?

Whew! Finally!

*Hangs up question-answering hat*
