I would love to see some of our talented saber builders offer a Luke ROTJ Reveal that does all of the same things this one does at a competitive price, but we all know if would come out at more than $1000. The closest one was somewhere between $750 and $1000 and it didn't have any electronics and the ones with electronics were not reveal sabers. The bottom line is, there isn't anything being offererd by anyone else at any price. So, for $500, you can't beat it. This may not be for everyone, but it is for me.

The V2 is still the best version to me. I guess this reveal version is kind of a maybe this is how the interior looks. Although, Luke seems to move the cover in the clip.

It's still kind of strange with all the tinkering going on with the originals that George Lucas doesn't make the lightsaber look consistent through Return of the Jedi. It shouldn't be that difficult. If he did that, then the reveal or original Master Replicas version would be the version to own. Right now, I love my V2.

Yeah, I think so, lights and all that articulation.
It's more a question of what would the same thing done custom cost right now?

It is a shame this replica will falsely validate the Elstree saber (actually, we should say "sabers" - who knows how many of these Elstree fooled people into buying - at least two are known).

Yep. Especially since we've now all seen the scene that "was never filmed" and it's not the Elstree saber. I know eFX doesn't want to rehash what MR's already done, but I'd think their interpretation of an actual film saber (Obi ANH) would be better than a replica of a fraud.

Sold out!? That was quick. Now the hard part, waiting for the thing. I'm glad they did a payment plan for this one, that is really going to help me on this and is one of the factors that tipped it into a yes rather than a maybe prop.

had the opportunity to speak with byran in person over the weekend and got chance to play with two prototypes (the one shown at SDCC and the version after that which features a smoother sliding mechanism for the forward section among other improvements), and they are friggin gorgeous. The locking mechanisms feel tight and secure yet smooth when opening and closing. as far as the electronics go, the set up is pretty sweet. there are two sets of LEDs, one set for the arrows that are activated when a button is pushed on the circuit board in the control box, and the LED's for the crystal are activated by pulling the black button on the side of the control box back. a ton of engineering work as put into this. Not nearly as heavy as i thought it would be though.

Does that match up with any of the identified ROTJ sabers?
Did anyone who saw it in person remember it that way?
