eFx Collectibles Announce THE AVENGERS Limited Edition Replicas

I assume since they didn't have the Iron Man helmet on display this year it may be a very very long time until its released if ever.
 
I'm done waiting on EFX Collectibles. I already have an aluminum CA shield pending through someone else. I hope to have it within next few weeks.


 
I'm honestly amazed they're still in business. I could have produced 500 Iron Man helmets myself in the time since they announced it.

You said it man! I too, have an aluminum shield coming. Feels good not having to depend on a **** company like eFx. I doubt their shield will even come out this year.
 
That would be a reasonnable price. There is no way I'm preordering one through eFx but if it is as good as their previous Avengers products I'll probably get one on the secondary market.
 
Those shields do look pretty good but they lost my business by taking WAY too long. If they had put out the shield any tine up until the last 6 months, I would have still bought it. But I couldn't wait anymore, I picked one up on the secondary market. And I'm glad I did.
 
I understand the aluminum shields are heavy, but looking at their site (any yes I know it really is painted) it looks painted. Thor's hammer didn't look like resin or other materials, it looked like heavy metal. I've wanted a Capt. Shield, but I'm just not sure if waiting on efx is/was the right choice for this one. Anyone put hands on or really get an up close look at one that could fill me in? Let me know if it looks and feels sturdy and worth it or does it look like a heavy painted piece of plastic?
 
Personally I think it's the best shield you can buy for $600 IMHO. I got to see it in person at WonderCon and while I can't say I'd give up my Chris Fields shield for this, it looks to be an accurate looking prop. What sets this one apart from available replicas here is the back of the shield and the handles are screen accurate; so far only Chris has been able to do these justice and unfortunately he no longer offers them. eFX's shield is based on the Avengers fiberglass shields, so the paint's finish is going to look more dull than a metal shield and I'm sure it was intended that way to match the actual prop.

I do think eFX's Mjolnir is a much better buy than the shield though FWIW.
 
Yeah, I've held the EFX shield in person as well. I had a great time meeting Bryan and talking over it. The EFX shield has the duller look the way it does because it's an exact copy of the screen used Avengers shields used in the final battle. The shield is great, it's thick and sturdy so it weighs about the same as most of the aluminum shields you see out there, if not a little more. The only thing I personally didn't like about it was the leather on the straps. I think it's too light weight of leather, but that's no EFX's fault, as it matches the screen used leather exactly, that's the fault of the prop team on Avengers. I personally will be putting in a preorder and getting one of these (I hope). 8D

Questions for you Chris regarding the efx shield as you seem to be one of the few people to check it out up close and in person...
Do the "metal" areas resemble real metal or more of a painted semi-metallic grey(which is how it looks to me in a lot of the photos)? And how much of the andozied look comes through with the red and blue?

A good idea could have been to release a stealth/S.T.R.I.K.E. shield along with the classic color scheme to ride the wave of the new movie's undeniable success. I doesn't seem like a lot of work since they already own the license and the S.T.R.I.K.E. shield is pretty much the same thing appart from paintjob.

Now they indeed just come off as late to the party.

I mean the least they could've done is start pre-orders right before Cap 2's release when everyone and their mother was on the market for a shield.
