On a side note.
I know there are photos of another vader helmet mold from the archives, but that mold is not the baker mold in case anyone was wondering.

Just to make it easier to see, here is a comparison of the screen used helmet and the mold.
I had to flip flop the mold pic so that you could view them in the same orientation.

that's a great comp gino, now show us the brow of the dome mould. I think I saw that other mould you are referring to once, but I've never seen an official dome mould. :)

would you call that mould color terra cotta?

Jeez, you give an inch and they take a mile.

I'd say, how about ponying up on your end of the bargain and showing what you guys think are c-scar remnants on your casts.
I think you'll find that what you are seeing is not actually the c-scar but something else entirely.
I'm not saying anyone is lying, but rather more mistaken about what they are seeing.

Wow, I thought that it was close to impossible to get permission to see the molds in this thread. Wow Gino and Bryan, thank you...a big Thank you. I can barely wait to get my limited...seriously can not wait.

As Gino said, people is not going to post pics of the C-Scar, even now...

Thank you very much Gino and eFX for the pics!

I think I see where you seem to be coming from gino, but you do know I don't have a helmet from the Baker mould right???? And therefore I have nothing to give in return. I was merely asking for pics for my research on the eFX helmet and you have certainly aided me in doing some of that. :)

oh and what I call the C-scar encompasses much more of the surface of the forward triangle that that c shaped scratch you keep referring to. All the topography starting at the lower border of the triangle to the tippy top of the c shaped scratch and all the way to the tip of the triangle by the nose...............that's what I mean by C-scar. And again, I see precisely what I expected to see in your photos. I do thank you once again for showing us lowly hobbyists the goods. :)

Wow, thanks for sharing Gino, so what does it mean? the scar or whatever it is is clearly there on the pics, even a paint detail would have been picked up in the mould, was it cleaned up before it was cast?.
And the mould in those areas looks to be in great shape, there would be some artifact left if it had been there and worn away, but the area is clean, very interesting.

Qui, the c scar on the Baker derived helmets is in no way indicative of the c scar on the screen or UK derived helmets, but yes we can close the book on the Baker helmet portion. :)

So, with such a view of the mold, when do we STOP calling it a scar and more of a paint swoosh?

Dave, every other artifact is on the Baker mold that was on the Tantive helmet. There is no scar. Paint swoosh.

In the Baker mould it's closer to a swoosh. In the UK mould and on the screen helmet prior to the Baker mould it is much more distinct. But we can call it a swoosh on the Baker helmets if you like :)
