If I had a exclusive top vader helmet that costs me sooooo much doe, and sooo much time attaining one, not to mention all the ass kissin', I'd probably resent the fact that now every joe shmoe can get the same thing on par or even perhaps better structural wise (no mods) than current casts with probably a few purists details lacking. DAMN

lol
To be honest, after eyeing Gino's recent pics, namely this shot....
I'm kinda convinced only the DJ can best it which is probably a moot point since both are RB's
Well, I for one am happy that collectors have this opportunity, and heaven knows I've invested my fair share in Vader helmets. :confused
I also think it is good to discuss what some like myself would hope to expect in terms of features and form from a helmet with this pedigree. There was some discussion about the prototypes, with certain hopes and expectations for the production versions. Clearly this represents the best licensed Vader helmet offered to date both in terms of lineage and in terms of finishing quality. Sure, we can nick-pick about details but that is what seeking greater accuracy is all about. eFX should be very pleased with the attention this helmet has received and I personally hope that they sell out within the first few days (I hope to get one myself).
And for "one of our own" here to have been involved in helping eFX is good for the community because it gives the community a sense of investment. In many ways, Gino represents our interests to eFX, helping to make the helmet as good as it can be. Sure there will be personal differences. But there is no resentment, no jealousy, just a hope that we can all enjoy an ANH Darth Vader helmet as close as possible to the original prop.
That all being said, if to a collector such as yourself it looks the same as the original prop, that's fine. But this isn't just about "a few purist details", nor is it "better structural wise than current casts". Saying this helmet is identical to the original ANH helmet would be like saying the MR ROTS Vader helmet is identical to the original screen helmet. It isn't. Nor is this. Is it close? Sure and I think we all know that it is the closest offered to date from a licensed vendor, and that is probably all what 90% of collectors interested in this helmet would want to know.
Then there are the other 10% of collectors. And they might be asking, well it is close, but how close?

I'm one of those 10%. Given what I have in my own collection, my expectations will naturally be very high. If we can discuss the finer points, then great. Is such a discussion possible here from a practical and objective standpoint? It would be nice if it were.
